The one thing I keep seeing in this picture is the alien underneath the rose window.  :)

The stonework does not look to be 1000 years old, is this a church built in the New World within the last couple of hundred years?

I have to admit it. The New World, and much newer than Canterbury.

Only 10:30 in St. Louis, but it will be bed time after posting this! Sticking with the ecclesiastical theme, name this building.

Hah! - With a lantern instead of a tower, must be Ely Cathedral! (Well, Liverpool has one, but that's modern and not Protestant.)

Correct, I think Ely is just about the only cathedral where the lantern didn't collapse a few hundred years ago.

Over to you.

Half-credit to spylaw (deduct 1/2 point for lack of confidence. ;) ) and half-credit to stuny.

Salt Lake City Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormon).

Taken BTW with a demo M9 on the day after the official introduction - 9/10/2009, or 7 years ago Saturday.

You guys figure out who goes next.

PS - yes, Michael, there are seagulls nearby. Even a monument to them. Several hundred miles from the nearest ocean - but there is the Great Salt Lake.

The California Gull is now the State Bird of land-locked Utah.

Well, that's a surprise!

Given the size of the people in the shot, the Temple looks comparatively small. Other images make it seem huge - but that's publicity for you!

I cede to Stuart as he has more images to call on than I have at present.
