Some distortion but I like the colors I can get straight out the camera, this one early in the misty morning.

I have been using the M8 since its launch. It is still a very capable camera. I skipped the M9 as I did not feel it was a worthwhile upgrade. Here is an example of a b&w shot w/ WATE without any uv/ir filter,

Here's an architectural shot of the Woodbury, Co. IA (USA) courthouse in Sioux City, Iowa... the largest publicly owned Prairie Style building in the world... I shot it last week with my M8 and a VC 28mm f/2. This is a six-image panorama stitched and corrected in CS 6.

you can grind/sand down the outside diameter of a step ring (series 5.5 to 39mm)

The outside diameter must be 42mm to make 'all' 35mm and 50mm hods fit like also 12585.

Erik,

I know that you have lots of experience using M8, do you ever create a Dual-Illuminant Profile by X-rite ColorChecker via M 28/2.0 or M 35/2.0 lenses?

After I review many DNG and JPEG files made by M240, I decide to explore the potential of M8 in depth given the green cast can be handled well (You know I didn't use it much).

I will appreciate if you can help out.

Best Regards,

Thomas Chen

I don't have those lenses nor a green cast.

You should start a new thread on X-Rite....

I only use X-Rite to calibrate images shot in UV Ultra Violet with my modified Nikon D300

I started this thread a while ago in part to promote the idea that just because technology moves forward, it does not make previous technology obsolete. I'm still getting lots of joy from my M8. Here are some shots from last Saturday. The B&W tones remain outstanding!

Jean-Marc has inspired me to dig out my old daily shooter again.

I lug the M8.2 around now to try lenses on it, I got after I stopped using the M8.2.

It's like a completely new relationship seeing how these lenses look like on the M8.2 ;-)

I think M8 is capable and actually quite good for this kind of sport as you can see long part of the track in finder and just wait when the target is inside the 90mm frame (example pic not cropped). Also the shutter lag is very short.

Hi all

I also like the M8, I have two, one silver and one black both with Luigi Crescenti cases.

I use a lot with IR filters, usually BW092 with Elmarit-M 28/2, 8.

Now I'm "scanning" my bw negs with visoflex and micro-nikkor 55/3, 5.

Attached IR photos from my recent trip to Berlin, processed in C-1.v7.

My Canon 60D doesn't get any work anymore. My Leica lust knows no bounds since I got my first Leica some 12 months ago (Leica IIIc).

Here's my beloved safe in its nappa leather bag with Summicron 50mm f2 (1952), VC 21mm f4 and Elmar C 90mm f4 ...at the moment posing with Canon 50mm f1.4 LTM...and of course filters. I also put my Canon G12 in the bag for macro shots...all fits.

Cheers and all the best, Dave S :)
