Is Newhall perhaps a bit closer?

Yes, I think so (if you are referring to the place in Santa Clarita).

I think you are trying to be too specific - I'll happily accept the name of the main conurbation and let the thread move on.

This is one of the last few photos I have taken with my (now sold) MP. A camera I miss very much. Taken from a glider being pulled up in a typical summer day of....

County is enough, and relative latitude of it.

Coming in for landing pointing east. Thinking of it: The first picture shows summer weather formations typical of this country. Light cumulus during the day which turns into rain showers in the afternoon...

yes, I thought so, since the SE plane number would be Sweden, just the red house could have been Norway ...

East of Goteborg?

Esquire,

That was very close to a perfect answer! Yes, why not read the registration code for the glider? With a little language knowledge, you could see typical Swedish words for off (från) and on (till) on the dash board.

Red houses, with this traditional red paint (Falufärg) from the Swedish copper mines starts somewhere south east of Gothenburg and goes north. Farther south, houses in Sweden are often made of brickstone. A typical continental European tradition. Going north, and they are red wood houses, traditionally. So, 'east of Gothenburg' is not that far off. These pictures are taken right above the Swedish village called Sunne, in Värmand. Some 180 km right east of Oslo at 59.50.6 N. - About the same latitude as Oslo, Stockholm and Helsinki.

So, it is a bit farther north, but accepted!

On to you, Esquire!

tak skal du har

but it could have been a Swedish plane on foreign soil ;)

anyway, the southern latitude was south of Kristiansand, 58°09'00"N, so the latitude was too far south ...

never had glider flight in Norway or Sweden, I liked my time in Oslo.

Be back soon ...
