billh Posted January 22, 2007 Share #5 Posted January 22, 2007 That is one of the best waterfall photographs I’ve seen. There is a haunting, ethereal beauty about it - very interesting components, lighting and composition really work perfectly together here. Rolo Posted January 22, 2007 Share #6 Posted January 22, 2007 Horst, This works really well. Congratulations. I love what's going on in the left hand side. Terrific. Rolo
johnwolf Posted January 22, 2007 Share #7 Posted January 22, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Horst, These slow shutter waterfall images have become somewhat cliched for me -- but not this one. It's wonderful. The blue tones, the monochromatic scheme, the ethereal blur of the mass on the left, and the fountain-like quality on the right alll work together perfectly. Very expressive work, and a great example of shooting something old in a fresh way. John
arminw Posted January 22, 2007 Share #8 Posted January 22, 2007 Lovely shot and great colors ... where was it taken ?
stuny Posted January 22, 2007 Share #9 Posted January 22, 2007 Horst- Most of us back up and get far more in the photo of a waterfall. You took the less traveled route, and it works wonderfully for its framing, limited colors and cold action.

Leonto Posted January 23, 2007 Author Share #12 Posted January 23, 2007 Thanks everyone for the nice comments. The picture was taken in the northern part of Japan and it shows only one of the many magnificent waterfalls in Japan. Horst
andybarton Posted January 23, 2007 Share #13 Posted January 23, 2007 Sorry - a "me too" post. A slower or faster shutter speed just wouldn't have done it for me. This one is perfect.
