She recently gave me permission to publish her portrait. This is Krisztina whom I traveled for a month with after the tsunami in South East Asia. She did video interviews and video documentary while I did interviews and stills for my AFTER THE TSUNAMI project at http://www.afterthetsunami.org

The dress she is wearing is one she had made while we stayed in India for some days. The rest of the time we were dressed with trousers with lots of pockets and able to withstand dirt and all.

Ehmm Thorsten,

She is indeed gorgeous in a very good quality sari (my wife wants one like it) - no wonder you waited so long after the "email is down" story to your wife before publishing the photo of the woman you were with for two weeks (LOL)

Thanks. You are all too kind. Shooting with Leica in a nicely lit room, having a woman i silk dress in front of the camera... I'm sorry to disappoint you, but what could possible go wrong?

By the way I had silk dress made for my wife too. I had to visit three places before I found one place where they in fact DID understand that my wife is 180 cm tall and NOT 180 cm wide.

Unfortunately, even I supplied all the measures (i thought), no one seemed to think about that such a tall lady (in Asian terms) also has long(er) arms. So my wife seldom wears her silk dress. She is very specific about the arms length as that is often a problem.

Andy, the secret formula I live by is that I never enthusiastically flash pictures of other women to any woman.

As my wife and this hungarian lady have many annoying manners and habits in commen - well, in this exclusive forum where we're only a few people exchanging experiences let me tell you that I make sure I only use three sentenses when spoken to:

1) Good.

2) Yes, I will do that immediately.

3) Sorry, that must have been my fault.

4) I love you too. (once a week I might add a disclaimer like) In fact, you are the only women in the world that means anything to me. I hope you never leave me.

Whenever a woman I photographed say they like their photo and 'feel free to use it' I do so. And then I'm always prepared for repercussions.

I think this successfull recipe is what have alowed me to reach this relatively high age (41 years) and still being allowed to enjoy a few freedoms such as having a few computers and Leicas.
