Well done Wilson.  Maybe the crop wasn't tight enough.

Here is the car after restoration:

Hektor,

My reasoning was: Rudge Whitworth wheels so probably British. Big rear wings so maybe a largish engine and dating from late 40's to very early 50's. The choice really came down to a Healey Silverstone or an Allard and the door shape was more Allard but not a J2, which in any case doesn't have the spare tyre in the boot. So that just left a K1 Allard. One of my wife's late patients, Ray Thompson, who with his brother Eric had been leading amateur race drivers in the 1940's and 50's, used to talk about continental trips in his L1 Allard, the four seat version of the K1. He had a Mercury engine in his one with Ardun OHV heads and triple Stromberg carburettors. He commented that the steering became a bit vague at much over 100MPH, probably due to front end lift.

Just to keep things going in the interim here's something I glimpsed - but didn't quite recognise - tootling around town about ten days ago but, unexpectedly, came across parked-up in a different quarter the very next day so grabbed a few snaps.

Comes from a fairly well-established manufacturer of sporty runabouts. This particular version of the regular 'base-unit' has several individualistic flourishes - which I shall endeavour to illustrate - which distinguish the thing from the mass-produced fare. Car was painted Metallic Black so reflections are perhaps going to be a little bit of a distraction...

Just the make, model & model variant, please. Production year could only be from a very small window but anyone guessing correctly will already have done enough;

Hello Wilson and John.

No; it's neither a 20th Ann. version* nor, although it does share some design cues and other aspects with La Ferrari, is it one of those either.

I'll give other players a bit more time to have a go before posting another picture. In any case I'll need some inspired 'cropping-time' to experiment with those images I have without giving the game away completely; it's a fairly dramatically-styled thing and there are not too many boring panel-shapes from which I can make my choices....

Philip.

* To the best of my knowledge and all things considered.

Time for another picture.

Some subtle Harris Tweed adornments help the car stay on the road during the weekly shopping trip to Lidl;

McLaren Senna........and I am more confident of this guess than my La Ferrari stab in the dark...

...and with every justification, John, as it is - as you say - a McLaren 'Senna'. Using the company's 720S as a base there were 500 of these special edition examples made with deliveries starting around autumn 2018. For anyone unfamiliar with the car (as I was) here is the link to the relevant Wiki entry;

A pair of snaps showing the full vehicle. I'd never call it an 'attractive' car but, design-wise, the detail-work at the rear - for a road car - really is something else;

To be fair when I’m in London I’m often at the Groucho round the corner....and the Soho Square “hut” is pretty distinctive!

Glad to see that “Senna” being used in the traditional manner of a track-focussed supercar (at least in London) -pootling around in the 20mph zone, scraping over speed humps, getting stuck at the width restrictions and annoying everyone with its “Thor gargling in an echo chamber* “ soundtrack.

Thanks, Philip. Another car with interesting rear view / treatment and quite fast............in fact, faster by 2+ seconds around Fiorano in Maranello than the venerated Enzo model, which in my opinion really never was designed, intended and sold as a Grand Touring car as this one was, rather as a wealthy enthusiast's track toy.

Obviously a Ferrari - but I am looking for the correct and complete model designation. If you identify it correctly you probably know the yearsduring which it was produced.

This should be quite easy,  but it'll have to do for the moment as I've been suffering from the flu ( no, not covid ) and it's a Hell of an effort just getting out of bed and remining upright.
