Quite acceptable to use Google … all part if the search process. I often use all sorts of searching means / parameters when trying to identify a Name This Car.

Go for it.

In that case, 1954ish Hillman Minx.

My father had a 1960s Minx, an Imp and later on a Hunter.

Car was photographed at the recent Bourne Classic Car Show … Bourne in Lincolnshire UK is the home of BRM.

I have bought many cars at Bourne auctions over the years.....

My collection of car images isn't as good as I thought it was, it's voluminous, but lacking variety, lets try this one though:

I know which model this is but do not have anything ready as a follow-up. A well known US based but now deceased 'motorcyclist' stuck a Chevrolet engine in his … Sacrilege!!

They have a nasty habit of doing things like that over here, and sadly a "Jagolet" often sells for more than a Jaguar with its original engine.

Oh dear.

Looks to me like a Lagonda Rapide.

Hello Dunk,

Does the fame of this model have anything to do with someone learning to drive?

Best Regards,

Michael

This reference isn't familiar to me, I'm not sure this car is famous for anything but reliability issues.

Why would you change the Lagonda engine? Tadek Marek's superb V8 was probably the only reliable bit in the whole car  :)

Less power than e.g. a Bentley Turbo R … the two were compared / reviewed in the January 2016 edition of Classic and Sports Car magazine.

Evel Knievel's Aston martin Lagonda has an 8.2 litre Chevrolet engine.

He could always have got Richard Williams or Bamford and Rose to drop in one of the twin supercharged versions of the V8 (Holborn Eaton blowers). I believe Richard has got these engines making over 650 BHP from 6 litres and has sorted out the non-linear throttle response that was the bane of the original Virage and Vantage cars. The only problem is I understand that you have to remove the superchargers to change the spark plugs. OTOH that is no worse than my 911 Turbo, where you have to remove the rear suspension to change the plugs.

Evil Knievel was an All American Boy, as such, he wouldn't consider anything but a Chevrolet engine, it's almost a religion over here.

Dunk, do you have a photo you can post?

Meantime, who can name the make of the vehicle piece that passed me on the highway yesterday:  ;)

I found this one, I will confess I took the photo a few years ago and had to Google it to find out what it was.
