I agree, although the nose mascot looks a bit strange. BMW had a licence to build this in Germany in the 1930's.

The advertisement begs a question. Could the John Cook who is selling the car be related to Anthony Crook who went on to own the Bristol car company?

I had the same thought about the mascot, but Im not sure if there is a drain cover or somthing in the road behind the car that looks like part of the mascot. A better scan of the photo might reveal.

Not sure about the Bristol link, Could be.

Blinkings -

No that is a very difficult one since it is based on a US car, probably from the' 40s or '50s, and is very heavily modified. This will require guessing or having seen it at a car show. I'll guess it's based on a late '40s Mercury, though the engine is not the flathead of the era.

John -

The logo looks like a Lambo, but I can't recall a smooth bodied Lambo, especailly front engine (the smooth Miura was mid engine). It's quite striking, and the Cobras behind it look beautifully prepared. Once you reveal it I hope you'll include other views.

Not a Lamborghini, Stuart, although the nose emblem does have the same shape. This may be difficult as this is a low volume, new design. Here's two hints: Zagato and the repro Cobras in the background. Will post a 3/4 rear shot shortly if nobody gets close.

The nose says Europe but the general hippy, bippy in your face look is a bit American. And then there is the clue. Could this be a modern Shelby Cobra? Though didn't Carol Shelby die not too long ago, so could this be a kind of homage on the theme - this is what we think he would be doing now.

I guess shooting in the dark could end up with shooting yourself in the foot but I kinda like it.

Zagato (just before going about bankrupcy) designed a car which brought to new life the old name Diatto... made don't-remember-where... is it, maybe ?
