stuny Posted April 17, 2014 Share #6262 Posted April 17, 2014 Hmmm. Perhaps another of those hybrids with Italian coachwork but other drivetrain, such as Chrysler or Ford

DigitalHeMan Posted April 17, 2014 Share #6264 Posted April 17, 2014 The bumper looks wrong, but the rest of the body reminds me a bit of a Shelby Cobra, although they are from the 60s rather than the 50s... stuny Posted April 17, 2014 Share #6265 Posted April 17, 2014 Only the 427 Cobras had side vents but they weren't chromed. Perhaps the Pininfarina bodied Caddy from the mid 50s? It had big bumpers like Wildon's puzzle, as well as chromed side vents, and the look, as here, of a hefty, costly grand tourer.
wlaidlaw Posted April 17, 2014 Share #6266 Posted April 17, 2014 It is indeed the Cadillac Farina Roadster. Prettier than any Cadillac in production today, even though the front grille would have to deemed “interesting” . As I had run out of other photos, I copied this with my M240 + bellows + 135 T-E from one of my books. Wilson Welcome, dear visitor! wlaidlaw Posted April 17, 2014 Share #6270 Posted April 17, 2014 I understand that the bankrupt Fisker operation has been sold to a Chinese battery manufacturer called Wanxiang. The rumour is they are going to relaunch the Fisker with a Qingqi motorcycle engine generator and 5000 AA batteries Will look for another photo tomorrow Wilson

luigi bertolotti Posted April 19, 2014 Share #6272 Posted April 19, 2014 ... which means is NOT a Citroen....
Michael Hiles Posted April 19, 2014 Share #6273 Posted April 19, 2014 If I am not mistaken (unwarranted assumption), this IS a Citroen BL. It is (I am pleased to hope) older than me.
luigi bertolotti Posted April 19, 2014 Share #6274 Posted April 19, 2014 (edited) Let's wait for Wilson... : I answered joking on his warning, but by strict logic, if MY written first guess is WRONG, it IS a Citroen (my mental first guess, which I didn' t write), and you're right... but is your first guess, so must be wrong.... wlaidlaw Posted April 19, 2014 Share #6275 Posted April 19, 2014 Not a BL. That is what I thought everyone would guess. Also known as a Light 15 in the UK or an 11CV in France. Wilson
DigitalHeMan Posted April 20, 2014 Share #6276 Posted April 20, 2014 How about a Citroen 15CV traction avante, maybe from the early 50s? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
wlaidlaw Posted April 20, 2014 Share #6277 Posted April 20, 2014 As per my post above yours, not a 15. This is an unusual model but looks very similar to a light 15/15CV. This is I think only the second of these cars I have seen in the flesh. I admit that from the clip or even the whole photograph I took, it is very difficult to spot what this particular car is, which I why I told everyone that it would not be their first guess. wlaidlaw Posted April 20, 2014 Share #6278 Posted April 20, 2014 To give everyone another clue, it does not use steel springs on the rear. Wilson
luigi bertolotti Posted April 20, 2014 Share #6279 Posted April 20, 2014 To give everyone another clue, it does not use steel springs on the rear. Wilson But...is IT anyway a Traction Avant ? In that case,,, the rear suspension without steel springs could have been on some 7 model.
wlaidlaw Posted April 20, 2014 Share #6280 Posted April 20, 2014 This model has a particular name and is always known by that name. It is not known by a model number or horsepower rating. It is front wheel drive. Wilson
