Gents, It's NOT a tank. The two engines are for two different purposes, not a little starter engine for the big one. Each engine is for one purpose. It's a 1960s vehicle and was fully working in each field. Unfortunately not enough venture capital found to make a series from it.

Congrats, Ronald.

Small Engine for the propeller in boating-mode , big one for the road (or vice versa, depending in the engineers priorities)?

Thanks, Tim.

Well .... vice versa, but not boating mode. Think of the 1960s dream to escape traffic jams.

There are some newer attempts at flying cars from Pal V, Terrafugia and Zee Aero, and one of which shares some characteristics with your puzzle car, but I cannot think of something from 50+ years ago at all similar to this.

Well, the Wagner Aerocar was German and had a helicopter-like nose. I think this might be it.

Indeed, you found it. Wagner Rotocar III. See here.

Guess the word "aerocar" mentioned before by malcom, made it easier to find.

It was the idea of an ex Messerschmitt employee (Wagner) and the prototype seemed to fly and drive.

In 1960s Germany it would have been impossible to get it street/air legal I guess.

Even IF it would have been made and sold in series, who would have been the buyer? People with car and helicopter license. RARE. Nobody (except the maker) would have thought this will ever be a hot selling toy.

Then there's the entire issue of adding a third dimention to drivers' psyche, so used to thinking in two dimentions. Then there are midair collisions. Then there are mechanically cuased crashes to the ground. I'm glad the idea never took off.

Let's try this one:

John. Very well done. Plymouth only made the Prowler for one or two years. This particular one had the Hemi V8,even though most had a 6. I'm away from my files so I can't post full shots but I will do so tomorrow. Your turn, John.

I'm going to have to pass at this time. Please, happy to see someone else step up here. While I have many, many images made in the 1960's and 1970's very few have been scanned to digital format. I will work to see what I have, but am busy with some other projects at the moment.

Judging by the perfect BRG color, Brooklands muffler, matching upholstery material, twin 'petrol; filler pipes / caps with those specific opening / locking levers behing the cockpit and folding 'windscreens, I'll go out on a limb and say that's a 1928-30 Bentley, similar to the cars that won LeMans three years in a row.
