One side note to my riddle #4714: The families car seems to be a Hansa-Lloyd "8" Trumpf-Ass.

It´s build quality and technical solutions were said to be much superior to similar Horch cars of that era.

  • 1928-1930
  • 8 cyl.
  • 100 hp
  • 5,2 ltr
  • 120 km/h
  • coachbuilder maybe "Gärtner"

I had that in my archive, but forgot my notes.

Gerd,

What a strange radiator for an Alfa. I don't think I have ever seen one like that. I usually expect to see the flat radiator like the red 6C2500 alongside. Thanks for posting those photos. Castagna did make some large heavy bodies for Alfa's in the 1930's. There is a dark blue 8C around, with a very bulbous 4 seat tourer body. I believe they also bodied a 6C as a large Sedanca de Ville saloon but I assume that must have been re-bodied as it seems no longer to be around. One would think Italian coach builders will always be super sporty and stylish but Castagna seem to have been pretty conservative.

Ronald & Wilson,

I like this car very much and from the article on the website of Bonhams it appears that I took the pictures on the first outing of the car after restauration works made in Holland in 2007.

Bonhams 1793 : 1930 Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 4th Series GS Spider, Chassis no. 8513078 Engine no. 121315126

It was the 6C2500 Raduno that passed through Antwerp. The first pictures are on the "Grote Markt" in front of the town hall the last 2 were taken the next day in the surrounding of Antwerp where the partcipant were holding their goodby lunch.

Gerd, thanks for presenting this beauty. I´m so in love with the color as well. Always thinking of this kind of grey for the next project.

Here the next car, had no time on the weekend because of garden works, sorry. As a compensation for posting two days later, I present a very generous crop.

UliWer, you got it. That was a too generous crop ;)

It´s grandpas Hansa 2400 fastback with folding top.

I have some photographs in a nice scenery (Switzerland),

but most of them only show the front or crops of the car with persons,

so this one is better for showing the sideline.
