Rona!d Posted December 24, 2011 Share #2683 Posted December 24, 2011 seems an electric car to me Some parts are electric, like with any other car, but not the main engine which is from a conventional series.
stuny Posted December 24, 2011 Share #2684 Posted December 24, 2011 Perhaps a design from Cadillac? BTW: My mother had an Oldsmobile F-85, first year, with the BOP aluminum engine licensed later to Rover and BMC. For the time it had very fast acceleration. efix Posted December 24, 2011 Share #2686 Posted December 24, 2011 I'm in the Audi department, too. The tail light and wheel design looks very Audi-ish to me ...

Rona!d Posted December 24, 2011 Share #2690 Posted December 24, 2011 Not GM, not Aston ...
stuny Posted December 26, 2011 Share #2691 Posted December 26, 2011 The drilled brake rotors suggest high performance, as does the minimal overhang. Is this a show car rather than a production car?
Andreas.Pichler Posted December 26, 2011 Share #2692 Posted December 26, 2011 Absolutely no idea...which came closest to me have been cars from another island: Japan. Nissan GTR maybe or Toyota 300 - but the details are not fitting... Cheers, Andreas
steed Posted December 27, 2011 Share #2693 Posted December 27, 2011 prototype Honda high performance?
Rona!d Posted December 27, 2011 Share #2694 Posted December 27, 2011 None of them High performance? Yes! Showcar? Yes, but series car as technical base and serial production planned, but too expensive.
Andreas.Pichler Posted December 27, 2011 Share #2695 Posted December 27, 2011 The wheels are similar to the ones bolted on the Mazda MX5 Superlight prototype - but tail light are totally different. I take a closer look at other Mazdas Cheers, Andreas
Andreas.Pichler Posted December 28, 2011 Share #2696 Posted December 28, 2011 (edited) Have checked all Mazda prototypes from the begin on...the begin: Not Pininfarina, no GM, no Audi, no nothing. Maybe BMW? But they do a more retro styling (Z8 for example) and not a straightforward desing like for example Bertone - it looks a little bit italian, doent it? Okay, lets do it like Mr Arnolt in the 50ies: Lets take a sports car chassis - Z8 for example - and let Bertone make a body. And here we are: The Bertone Birusa from 2003 - based on a BMW Z8 roadster platform. Here is a video: Hope I am right - otherwise I am out for this round.... Andreas.Pichler Posted December 28, 2011 Share #2697 Posted December 28, 2011 By the way, Mazda has a connection to Bertone as well, the Mazda R130 Luce Coupe with rotary engine. Cheers, Andreas

Andreas.Pichler Posted December 28, 2011 Share #2699 Posted December 28, 2011 (edited) ...quite interesting, these concept cars and prototypes! By the way, prototypes... In the mid of the last century, a car manufacturer sent some prototypes to a well known motorsport event - quite successful, by the way, and the series production cars became successful as well. One prototype body was sold later on, the buyer modified some parts of the body, but left most untouched, and again our little car was successful in motorsports. Car has survived until today and is racing from time at historic motorsport events. Can you name this car? Cheers, Andreas (photo taken with Digilux 2) Welcome, dear visitor!
