OK no response......

It'a 3-wheeler named VELOREX. Powered by a JAWA motorcycle engine and using the cycle wheels it was a low budget 'car' from the fifties.

Here are more:

velorex dreirad - Google-Suche

who is next? Ronald? I know that he knew the car, he's the specialist for oldtimers.....

Bernd, you can give it free to anybody who wants next or you could post a new car.

That Verlorex 3-wheeler had two nicknames (translated from Czeck into english):

  1. Batman
  2. (General) Montgomerys coat (because of the color and flexible skin)

It was made from 1950 to 1971, mainly for handicaped people, lot´s of soldiers who only had prewar motorcycle driving licences (we had something like that in Germany too) later switched into a 4-wheeler (which I think was a new car, but only made one or two years if I recall right. Used Jawa 350 motorcycle engine).

In the early 90´s I considered buying a Velorex 3-wheeler for fun, but there was this nice Wartburg 313 Sport convertible I also hunted ;)

I got here a bit late but why did I want to say Hanomag? Was that also a 3 wheel car?

Stu-

the Gordon Keeble was a Gentleman's express, big US V8, bespoke chassis, glass-fibre body, very expensive and only 103 laid down. How do I know this? There was a 500 copy book written about it, I have copy #350. It has been a long-time ambition to own one of these; have come close twice but it looks like I need a lottery win now... or will have to part with some others from the fleet.

What a great thread- I wonder who thought of it?:rolleyes:;)

The Gordon Keeble is notable for being Giorgetto Giugiaro's first design for Bertone. Shortly thereafter, he did the Alfa Giulia Sprint GT and you can see a similarity between the two in their side views. It would indeed be a historic collectable. You have good taste, Pete, along with an excellent idea for this popular thread.

mmhhh, yes, no nameplate I've shot. There was a 'club' of these cars visiting the 'Every sunday meeting' for oldtimers:

Let's ask for just one of those cars, except the Volvo.......

Bernd, the car shown in #2498 is a 1980´s Sbarro GT 40 Replica based on the De Tomaso Panthera.

It is not a strictly replica of GT40, it has some own design elements so more a kind of interpretation, like often with Sbarro designs.

Certainly a kit-car. See the rear lens. That's where they often err. Cheap trailer lenses.

Ah, I found one. Before posting it I googled the name of the organization painted on the door to make sure you could not get the answer that way, but this should be pretty easy. I know Rona|d will get it right away.
