As usual for me, open to anyone who has a car to post. If it is not raining tomorrow, I hope to go to our local St Georges day event which usually has a few classic cars, including my 911 RSR but given that I have just paid £200 for a valet and super polish ready for sale, it would have to be forecast dry for the day.

If you don't mind my asking, Wilson, which event and where is this to be held?

Having had a quick search on the www the only event I can see scheduled for tomorrow is the 'Ace Cafe in Brighton' show on Madeira Drive.

Thank you very much, Wilson, for the link.

As it happens SWMBO and myself were considering taking a drive down to Brighton to visit our daughter so, weather permitting, the Festival looks like it would be an interesting choice for an outing. Unfortunately my suspicion is that the forecast from the MET Office for tomorrow - 7 degrees and rain - wouldn't fill my wife with too much enthusiasm for an 'outdoors-y' sort of day......but I live in hope......😸......

I'd better get the camera batteries charged just in case!

Thanks again,

Philip.

Not a Packard, but like Packard, there are no more cars from this manufacturer.  Here's another image:

If I may, I'm happy to help & post one.

The year this thing was made is probably the least important and the most difficult to state definitively, therefore I'll settle for manufacturer and model name.

Note: I have no idea why some of these cropped shots with 2480 pixels on the long edge appear so large.

I am afraid it was pouring with rain in East Sussex today, so I wimped out on going to the St George's day fête...

Sadly I was of the same mind.  A bit of a shame in terms of photo-opportunities missed but my thoughts go out to everyone who had been organising - and were intending to participate in - this event for such a long time.

No that has quarter elliptic forward facing springs going into a tubular axle with control wedges to adjust the castor angle. I was thinking Delage S8 maybe from around 1927.

No, the color is not French Racing blue.........  but is an important clue to solving the car's identity.

I'll admit the image above is an awfully sparse clue, but I also find it difficult to frame any portion of this car in a way that doesn't immediately give all away.

In any event, here's another clue - sorry about the image quality; a small portion of a D-Lux 4 snap greatly enlarged

Maybe a Riley of some sort - an MPH maybe? However the brake drums look very like those on our Alfa 8C2600 but a little narrower, so maybe the earlier 6C1750.

This is by far the closest, so far- just needs a little bit of refining - but I recall from previous posts you don't like that style of playing the 'name this car' game, so the proper thing to do is to simply reveal it now.

It is a 1933 Alfa-Romeo 8C Touring Lemans.....and even though the green plaque accompanying the car says exactly that, the full & correct description of this particular car - one of 8 of this type produced in very similar but race-specific versions - should read: 8C 2300 Touring 2.6, since this is one of two long wheelbase endurance racing versions which won the 24 hour event 4 consecutive years.
