Godfrey?

Sorry ... I was struck by a car while on my walk, crossing a street just two blocks from home, late Saturday afternoon. Happily I've survived with fairly minimal damage (dislocated shoulder, contusions and abrasions; no breaks)  but I'm very sore and find working with things rather difficult at present. I should be fine in a couple of weeks.

(I was in the crosswalk on the crossing light ... guy in a Prius just made a left turn right into me, all of a sudden. Absolutely nothing I could do... ! )

remarren,  so sorry to hear of your misfortune. All the best and here's wishing you a full and rapid recovery. Strongly back indeepthought's recommendation for legal action, and should it turn out the schmuck that hit you was using his phone or texting.....well, in that case all bets should be off and I trust you'll make the putz really suffer.

Re the mystery car, not a Zagato, rather, an all-Italian effort lnitiated by one of that country's older & more famous manufacturers involving another carrozzeria just starting out one year before this project was styled and executed.

Hello ramarren,

I am sorry to hear this. It is good to read that you are recovering. It might be good for you to watch for indications of other things that might need attention. Sometimes, some other things become more evident a while later.

Recover well & recover soon.

Best Regards,

Michael

Thank you for your concern and advice. In these first two days, I have been concentrating on surviving the soreness and misery. Today I requested the police report (which takes 10+ days to process and deliver to me) which will give me the name, address, etc for the driver of the car that hit me (the police collected it, I was rather busy with the EMT and Ambulance crews...). Tomorrow I'll be looking at the legal aspects of this mess.

Ugh, hate this stuff.

Zagato Jaguar XK140?

Wilson

Hmm. I looked up the Zagato boded Jaguar XK140 cars and the rear quarter window doesn't look right to me. It also doesn't look like the early Lamborghini 350GT or even the Lamborghini pre-production prototype (I owned a 350GT back in the day... door handles are quite different). Hmm hmm hmmm ... I'm mystified.

Sorry to hear this. Great you haven't got anything serious.

I wish you all the best and a quick recovery.

Thanks to all of you!

I'm working the post-collision issues as best I can. Only just coming up on the third day so things are still a little rough, but the shoulder doesn't hurt and other bits are slowly healing. Today is time to take off the dressings on my leg and examine what's happening there, shower, etc. Exciting ... LOL!

I think that is a very very clever crop of a special car…👏🏻

After much contemplation I concluded it's just about the only crop possible among the limited number of images I have of this car that does not contain clues that would immediately give away it's identity. For full disclosure's sake, I will admit that I cloned out the coachbuilder's badge on the lower front fender at the front edge of the driver's door, since I felt that would have made the whole excercise too easy.

I am offering an additional crop, this of another detail, directly adjacent & overlapping the crop above, including the 'deleted' carrozzeria's badge of this somewhat unique automobile, but this in black & white, since an unmodified crop contains a color element which, again, would give it's identity away instantly.

Shall I let the bat cat out of the bag?

Personally I have to admit to being rather interested to see how many more 'non-giveaway' crops can be found from this rather extraordinary creature!

Why not offer a new Leica Q3 to the 1st person who gives the correct answer in the next 6 hours! 🫣

Yes - the 5th design by Scaglione working with Bertone but the first actually built…hence the name : Berlina Aerodinamica Tecnica 5…but over to JZG for the full story.

A car I would love to see “in the metal” with its siblings 😍

(Sold together as a single lot for only $14.8m in 2020)
