stuny Posted July 20, 2024 Share #22263 Posted July 20, 2024 Christoph& Allain are correct it's a Corvette, and it is from the early 60s. Let's be more precise on the vintage. This shot should give you a 50-50 chance of being correct. Welcome, dear visitor! stuny Posted July 21, 2024 Share #22265 Posted July 21, 2024 1962 is correct, the last of the first generation 'Vettes. this particular one, in Des Moines, Iowa, was a rare fuel injected model. In the show Lucifer, the title character drove one just like it, though since it took place in Los Angeles he never had the removable hardtop on. Your turn. Welcome, dear visitor! Ivan Goriup Posted July 24, 2024 Share #22273 Posted July 24, 2024 I hope I haven't posted this car in the past......so let's have a go at this one. Please be warned about jumping to premature conclusions - if you think it's too easy and /or too obvious you're sure to be wrong. JZG Welcome, dear visitor! Indeepthought Posted July 24, 2024 Share #22278 Posted July 24, 2024 The driving lights look european, maybe Marchal!
Ivan Goriup Posted July 24, 2024 Share #22279 Posted July 24, 2024 Andreas, not a Ferrari, although there was a faint connection to the 250 series of Ferraris of that period. Wilson, not a Talbot - Lago, and around a decade younger than 1948. Indeepthought, I'm certain that these are European driving lights, and it is entirely possible they are Marshall units, and if they are, they look like 670 or 680 series models, especially with the angular little medallions on the top part of the rim of the lights - in fact, the car was built in Europe on a rolling chassis from another country. Not to be cryptic, but as is the case with so many collector cars, the story behind these cars and how they came to be is usually far more fascinating and interesting than the cars themselves, and it can be reasonably said that this car's story represents the first, very short chapter of one of the greatest car stories of the '50s & '60s. .......perhaps another clue will help.
