Wilson, tyres are becoming a problem indeed. Even the diagonal ply tyres (Firestone Whitewalls) on my beetle got a crazy price punch, IF I can get them.

A set was around 800,-€ in 2008. Now nearly double the price. I consider taking 356 wheels and 165 Vredestein Sprint Classics if I can get some (without whitewalls). And keeping the old Firestone whitewalls which are still fine as the car is the queen of darkness in my garage and driven rarely.

Try this one, which originally did not have chromed wire wheels or cup-holders:

Hello Wilson,

Not an Auburn.  Shot taken at 2006 Meadowbrooke is that helps.  Has a straight eight engine, and was seventy years old at the time.

540K Vanderbilt I thought.

Never called Vanderbilt or owned by a Vanderbilt, but is a late 1936 W129 540K

See  page 82 of Volume 1 of Jan Melin: Mercedes-Benz 8 and page 250 of Volume 2.

The curved-boxy rear decklid is something like that of an Enzmann 506 Coupe/Spyder but, rather annoyingly, I can't find / no longer have my book on Coachbuilt VW's so can't verify that this particualr air-intake design is from such a car.

Philip.
