I know Indian made tricars but I think they were of the bicycle type with the 'driver" sitting on a saddle behind the passenger, who then had a wheel either side. It looks very like a Riley Tri-Car but that is British, unless there was a licence built one in the USA.

An American Tri-Car made in Denver, Co, in 1912?

Nope 😉

At one point prior to his later career the founder of this maker was a sales agent for Locomobile and sales/marketing manager for Maxwell (Stu´s guessed company) before he made his own vehicles. He later became the founder of a successful agricultural machine company (which still exists under a new name) and even held patents for a flying machine he invented in the 1960s.

Although his own cars never became a long term success, the man behind this is a true and early american automotive pioneer whose friends and partners were part of some of the most well known US car companies.

These infos should keep the backdoor wide open for a successful end of this riddle. Again: Maker, model and extra points for the year of made (I think the exact model is the key to the year of made).

Imagine a 110+ years old TESLA

Hmmm - Andrew Riker built an electric tricycle in 1896. Just about the same size, but didn't need a crank to start. ;)

And Riker didn't survive to build an aircraft in the 1960s. Still, interesting coincidence.
