That's a South Eastern and Chatham Railway P Class 0-6-0. :)

I lived in East Grinstead for many years and I never got round to riding that train for some reason.

You have won the oily anorak and sellotape mended spectacles award. It was not as old as I thought. It was made in 1910 but it looks very 19th century.

I will confess to a certain interest in British railways and rolling stock, although I have never hung out on the end of a platform with a notebook! :) I know a little about the Bluebell Railway as I had a friend who volunteered there a few years ago and likely still does.

Right here is your next one. I want to know: Who is driving it, what engine does it have and to the nearest second, what 1/4 mile time did it achieve.

With many thanks to the wonderful children's book illustrator Dave James for one of his great pictures.

Happy Christmas to all

I think it's a Buick 'Nailhead' V-8, with its unique vertical valve covers, produced from about the mid-'50s to the mid '60s. The look on Rudolph's face says it all..............!

Thank You Wilson, and a Merry Christmas and best Regards to all,

The Buick Nailhead was also my thought or an Offenhauser/Arden overhead valve conversion of a flat head Ford. I think the blower is a GMC 6-71 and that's certainly a Hurst Shifter  :)

Regrettably in my sick bed since Christmas eve with flu and bronchitis, so would prefer if someone else has something to post.

Sorry to hear you have the lurgy Wilson; I've just about recovered from same but was very uncomfortable with unprecedented symptoms. Freshly pulverised whole lemon with African honey plus a proprietary flu remedy was very soothing but the bug had to take its course. Hope you recover asap.

Luckily my son-in-law brought me a large bottle of some exotic bourbon, which goes very nicely with lemon juice and cane syrup (courtesy of sister-in-law from Barbados) and then nuked in the microwave - a sort of hot whiskey sour. Doesn't make the flu any better but more bearable.  :)
