Dunk,

Spot on. I think from the wheelbase, it is an 11BL Cabriolet and it is from 1939. I am not sure about the wheels. I think they may be from the big six 15/6 Traction Avant.

These are the most amazingly modern cars to drive, with steering accuracy, feel and ride that put many modern cars to shame. The engine however is very period and a bit rough and tractor like.  Citroen were still using a derivative of the same engine, enlarged from 1911 cc to 2500 in the fuel injected CX of the 1980's. We used a CX2500 Safari as our company bus from Spitalfields down to Lloyds for a number of years. My father had a Slough, UK built light 15 Citroen in the late 1940's but decided to "improve" it with a Connaught cross flow cylinder head and two large SU's. Apparently it was a lot quicker but developed an alarming appetite for front drive shaft UJ's.

Thank you Wilson … I've always admired Citroens but never owned one. I recall the real Citroen enthusiasts e.g. the late Alan Clark (politician) so often praised their virtues.

I'll post the next puzzle later.

Best wishes

Here's the next one  … marque and approx year of this luxury car please … and if you can also name the model you likely really know your cars very well.

A clue is that manufacture was a joint enterprise.

Good luck

Given the car on the right...  Is this a Rolls Royce?

Not as up-market as a RR ...

So here's a challenge to you experts:

Can someone identify and date the cars in these 'lost film' photos posted by Mike in the 'I like film' thread?

I wonder how old these photos are.

I think that might be a Sizaire-Berwick from around 1914.

Wilson

Correct Wilson … I thought you'd recognise it because you mentioned the marque in a previous post

The car was on display at last month's Rolls Royce Enthusiasts Club Annual Rally at Burghley House … in use as a lubricant advert.

… your turn again Wilson :)

Best wishes
