wlaidlaw Posted September 14, 2012 Share #4141 Posted September 14, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) that sucks about your father. i really love the Fulvia HF though.....what a fantastic car. i'd love to have one, one day. When I was looking to buy a classic rally car in 2009, it was a real toss up between an Alfa GTA, a Fanalone Fulvia HF and a 911 3.0 RS. When I found a derelict 1977 911S Lightweight Competition race car (the same bodyshell and suspension as the 74-76 3.0 RS) in a scrapyard in Sonoma, CA, that made my mind up. Following many hours (and lots of £) of restoration, I suspect it has been more reliable (100% to date over 4 rallies and lots of road use) than the Lancia or Alfa would have been and with 285 BHP pushing only 970kg, quite a bit quicker as well. wlaidlaw Posted September 14, 2012 Share #4142 Posted September 14, 2012 Firstly I should have published a full picture of the Jowett Jupiter - so here is one below. As Lenn is busy at the moment, here therefore is a nice easy one to keep people amused for the moment. Apologies for the noisy photo - very early firmware on the M8! Wilson Welcome, dear visitor! elansprint72 Posted September 14, 2012 Author Share #4143 Posted September 14, 2012 I think this is also a Lancia but... no idea which one! Did you finish the Mini-Midas project? We are looking for a GTM (seeing as we have a shelf full of Cooper parts).
wlaidlaw Posted September 15, 2012 Share #4144 Posted September 15, 2012 I think this is also a Lancia but... no idea which one! Did you finish the Mini-Midas project? We are looking for a GTM (seeing as we have a shelf full of Cooper parts). Pete, It is an Astura - your turn. I am ashamed to say that the Midas is still sitting unfinished at the back of my garage. For sale for a very modest sum if you are interested ;-}} It has a 1400 Cooper S engine in it and most of the parts are there, apart from things like Allegro headlights, Fiat 126 windscreen, part of the brake linkage and one window frame. stuny Posted September 19, 2012 Share #4150 Posted September 19, 2012 I've still had no word from Pete, so who would like to add a new car to the puzzle?
wlaidlaw Posted September 19, 2012 Share #4151 Posted September 19, 2012 Next one then........ it goes against the grain but it is a modern one Wilson Welcome, dear visitor! stuny Posted September 19, 2012 Share #4152 Posted September 19, 2012 I know I've seen this, and it makes me think of the folded paper designs of Ital Design. I just can't think of it. BTW: Thanks for stepping in.
Andreas.Pichler Posted September 20, 2012 Share #4153 Posted September 20, 2012 Dear Wilson, how close I am with a Ferrari F355 bet, concerning nationality, year of make, designer - and color, of course ;-) Cheers, Andreas
Andreas.Pichler Posted September 20, 2012 Share #4154 Posted September 20, 2012 Dear Wilson, thought it over: I think Cizeta V16T ist the name we are looking for. Maybe the only connections to Ferrari are this certain red and the fact, that Claudio Zampolli, the mastermind behind this project, owned a Ferrari branch in Los Angels in the 80ies. Cheers, Andreas
Rona!d Posted September 20, 2012 Share #4155 Posted September 20, 2012 I think Cizeta V16T ist the name we are looking for. Da hast Du aber nochmal schnell die Kurve gekriegt, Andreas
Andreas.Pichler Posted September 20, 2012 Share #4156 Posted September 20, 2012 Hoffentlich Wilson will have the same opinion - between 21.10 and 21.20 clocktime I found a pretty good next riddle in my photo archive, so I took some more efforts to solve Wilsons ;-) Cheers, Andreas
topoxforddoc Posted September 20, 2012 Share #4157 Posted September 20, 2012 Could this be a Lotus Esprit with the OZ wheels? Charlie
Andreas.Pichler Posted September 20, 2012 Share #4158 Posted September 20, 2012 (edited) Could not :-) 'cause she is a Cizeta V16T. Hopefully. Cheers, Andreas ...live is name-the-car riddling. wlaidlaw Posted September 20, 2012 Share #4159 Posted September 20, 2012 Dear Wilson, thought it over: I think Cizeta V16T ist the name we are looking for. Maybe the only connections to Ferrari are this certain red and the fact, that Claudio Zampolli, the mastermind behind this project, owned a Ferrari branch in Los Angels in the 80ies. Cheers, Andreas Cizeta is correct. V16 was a myth. I drove one and it varied between about 9 and 14 cylinders but never I think, 16. I am not surprised they went bust. The Veyron and Veyron SS, which I drive from time to time, are always on 16. Wilson
Andreas.Pichler Posted September 20, 2012 Share #4160 Posted September 20, 2012 (edited) Thank you Wilson! Seems that you have some interesting stories to tell - I hope to met you at 2013 Oldtimer Grand Prix at Nürburgring? Drop me a line! However, back to ...life... In this case, from eight cars produced back to mass production. Make and model, please! Cheers, Andreas PS: Not an MG Welcome, dear visitor!
