Ronald, I want to say Lancia B24 but it isn't quite right. No trunk lid seam for one thing. Looks like a mid '50s Pininfarina design though.

Good picture too by the way!

Kent

Yes, but difficult to spot: apart the color, it cannot either be a Giulietta Spider... the reflection at right could give some hint...

No, we can exclude England. But it would be nice to hear of which british car you may have thought of.

I did not think of any British, indeed... I was simply hoping to exclude a Country in which there have been MANY nice sport cars built (and I think this is such... a spider, I'd say, even if I can be biased by the similarity with some famous Pininfarina designs) ...

So... NOT British...very very difficult... I wonder if, given the strange color, it may came from some "odd" small factory in some "odd" country not far from Italy (Switzerland ?)

Some of the VW Karmann Ghia also were NOT SO DIFFERENT... but I don't think is this.

Nah... I can't really draw any hipotesis... you see no signs of an opening of the back... so it could be a SMALL car - without a "normal" space for baggage - indeed the width looks to be rather small... but I haven't really any idea... '50s, you say... welll... I wait for someone to have some brilliant hipotesis: let me just know if it is Italian or not, I continue to think that there is something Italian in that piece of tail...

No ISO, Bill. Luigi you were on a good trace.

You mean the allusion to Simca - France ? I remember some Renault.. Florida (Caravelle ?), it was a cabrio... (keep in mind... I don't google by principle... is the fun of this thread...;))... but they had back engine and a typical "closed" front... (no Peugeot, no Citroen, no Panhard by sure...)

P.S. : good photoshopping in the front marque...:o

Luigi, the nicely made front mask fooled you :D You were on the right trace with rear engine, but not France.

With "Germany" you are partly right, it uses german parts from different makers (chassis, engine, gear etc.), but the brand and factory is NOT german (so not Glas - must admit, the front mask crop could remind one of a Glas).

Ronald, something about this reminds me of a late fifties, VW/Porsche very limited production car built in Switzerland. Am I on the right track?

John, I think YOU ARE ... me too thought of Suisse... and the last detail Ron posted smells of Porsche...
