luigi bertolotti Posted March 13, 2011 Share #801 Posted March 13, 2011 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) Ronald, I want to say Lancia B24 but it isn't quite right. No trunk lid seam for one thing. Looks like a mid '50s Pininfarina design though. Good picture too by the way! Kent Yes, but difficult to spot: apart the color, it cannot either be a Giulietta Spider... the reflection at right could give some hint... Advertisement Posted March 13, 2011 Posted March 13, 2011 Hi luigi bertolotti, Take a look here Name this car..... I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Rona!d Posted March 13, 2011 Share #802 Posted March 13, 2011 European is right, 1960´s wrong for this car. A bit earlier, although this type built has been until the early 1960s. No Lancia B24, no Alfa, no Pininfarina.
luigi bertolotti Posted March 14, 2011 Share #803 Posted March 14, 2011 Uhm... does your European view include England ?
Rona!d Posted March 14, 2011 Share #804 Posted March 14, 2011 (edited) Uhm... does your European view include England ? No, we can exclude England. But it would be nice to hear of which british car you may have thought of. Edited March 14, 2011 by Rona|d
luigi bertolotti Posted March 14, 2011 Share #805 Posted March 14, 2011 (edited) No, we can exclude England. But it would be nice to hear of which british car you may have thought of. I did not think of any British, indeed... I was simply hoping to exclude a Country in which there have been MANY nice sport cars built (and I think this is such... a spider, I'd say, even if I can be biased by the similarity with some famous Pininfarina designs) ... So... NOT British...very very difficult... I wonder if, given the strange color, it may came from some "odd" small factory in some "odd" country not far from Italy (Switzerland ?) Some of the VW Karmann Ghia also were NOT SO DIFFERENT... but I don't think is this. Edited March 14, 2011 by luigi bertolotti
Rona!d Posted March 14, 2011 Share #806 Posted March 14, 2011 No Karmann-Ghia, Luigi, but go on.
luigi bertolotti Posted March 14, 2011 Share #807 Posted March 14, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Nah... I can't really draw any hipotesis... you see no signs of an opening of the back... so it could be a SMALL car - without a "normal" space for baggage - indeed the width looks to be rather small... but I haven't really any idea... '50s, you say... welll... I wait for someone to have some brilliant hipotesis: let me just know if it is Italian or not, I continue to think that there is something Italian in that piece of tail... Rona!d Posted March 14, 2011 Share #808 Posted March 14, 2011 Luigi, the back can be opened from inside the car. This is quit modern and keeps your fingers clean;) The Italians influenced a lot of designers, but this is a non italian car and design.

luigi bertolotti Posted March 14, 2011 Share #810 Posted March 14, 2011 (edited) Something makes me say Facel Vega... Regards, Bill Uhm... the Facels of the '50s were BIG-8 cyl cars... but maybe looking to France isn't wrong... Simca made some spiders, I seem to remember... luigi bertolotti Posted March 15, 2011 Share #814 Posted March 15, 2011 (edited) No ISO, Bill. Luigi you were on a good trace. You mean the allusion to Simca - France ? I remember some Renault.. Florida (Caravelle ?), it was a cabrio... (keep in mind... I don't google by principle... is the fun of this thread...)... but they had back engine and a typical "closed" front... (no Peugeot, no Citroen, no Panhard by sure...) P.S. : good photoshopping in the front marque... Edited March 15, 2011 by luigi bertolotti
luigi bertolotti Posted March 15, 2011 Share #815 Posted March 15, 2011 I add the that styling of the front makes also me to tend to Germany... Glas, for instance... (but is too easy to name number of brands waiting for "You got !"... truth is, i CAN'T recognize it, damn... )

With "Germany" you are partly right, it uses german parts from different makers (chassis, engine, gear etc.), but the brand and factory is NOT german (so not Glas - must admit, the front mask crop could remind one of a Glas). J_Thompson Posted March 15, 2011 Share #818 Posted March 15, 2011 Ronald, something about this reminds me of a late fifties, VW/Porsche very limited production car built in Switzerland. Am I on the right track?
