biglouis Posted April 24, 2010 Share #3 Posted April 24, 2010 Very nice indeed. Like to the perspective and shallow depth of field (unusal when using a wide angle lens).

J_Thompson Posted April 24, 2010 Share #5 Posted April 24, 2010 Very nice use of composition, color and depth of field, Ece. I also love how the foreground flowers are highlighted. I'm glad you were there when the poppies were open as every time I go out there, the Spring wind is blowing and all the petals are closed!
euston Posted April 24, 2010 Share #6 Posted April 24, 2010 Yet another sensational poppy picture, Ece! And what a convincing advertisement for the Zeiss lens! The intensity of these colours is mind-blowing. (Does anyone still use that expression in California or am I showing my age?)

allamande Posted April 25, 2010 Author Share #9 Posted April 25, 2010 Mark, Louis, Herb, John, Robert, Paul, and David, I am happy to hear that you liked this image. Thank you for your generous comments, I do appreciate them very much. This year we are lucky to have such a bounty, and the Zeiss is put to good use (I love that lens). I wanted to make the background look like an impressionist painting, and judging from your comments I was on the right track. John, all I can suggest is that you check the latest weather for the park (call their hotline) and go if they are reporting mostly sunny skies. The petals close if there is heavy cloud coverage. They still look good though. Ece
