I'd be concerned with wondering if Samsung will invest in more lenses but maybe someone will develop an adaptor. I am still waiting (nearly 6 months) for my ordered X1 to arrive, so perhaps I should not make a comment here. My sense of the situation is that the X1 is a large sensor camera that is pocketable and the NX10 is a large sensor camera that is not pocketable. It seems to me purchasers of the X1 desire image quality with ultimate portability above all else (fixed focal length lens, lens not interchangeable, no video mode, and essentially no image stabilization). The NX10 offers everything given up by the X1 and pays for that with increased camera size. I'm not saying that the NX10 is a bad camera, it's just that it is not as portable, go-anywhere as the X1. My plan is to use my 5DMII for specific jobs best suited to that device (ultra-high resolution imaging, tilt-shift lenses, telephoto/high-speed work) and to use my X1 daily for everything else. I did this with my DL4 (until I sold it in preparation for the X1) and it worked out beautifully. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

None or both are pocketable depending on pocket size i guess but as far as lengths are concerned the shortest APS are the Pentax K-x and the Samsung NX10 so far. If you feel differently, you should certainly sell yours...and get the NX1 once a few reviews are in. It looks like a very capable camera - with faster response times than the X1, but it is far too big! My thinking is that if you cannot fit it in a largish pocket or fit it in the palm of your hand, you might as well buy a mid range Canon or Nikon DSLR. By the sound of things it has not hit the nail on the head for you, it requires too much effort to master and you are therefore disillusioned and moving on to the next toy. It requires patience and timing. Or were there no baby photos before autofocus? My point is simple - don't quit because you can't get the results you want in 5 minutes. The samsung has so many different accessories to try. Very tempting Yes, the focusing speed can be annoying, especially when you need to be hasty to get a shot. For the baby pics, up close at least, I would imagine 11 point would be best. I'm not that familiar with the Samsung to be honest, it isn't my type of camera. My thoughts are that if I'm going to get an SLR shaped camera, I may as well get a real DSLR. The options in lenses for a DSLR far outweighs the pros of the size and weight advantages of the Samsung. The GF1 seems like it would fit your situation. Its autofocus is faster than the X1. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
