I've got five, two slrs, two M6s and one TLR. I mostly use the Leicas...

Sorry for my curiosity but why did you bought a M6 (0,58)

if you dont use a bigger wide-angel-lens than 35mm ?

Recently ventured into film for the first time since I was a teenager, back then I didn't know much about photography and just snapped away with whatever cameras were available. I've spent the last 10 years or so with various digital point and shoots until I grabbed my first DSLR last year. That has led me to to start to really understand photography for the first time and has awakened a new interest in shooting film... so after that preamble....

I currently have 5 film cameras!

Petri 7s

Yashica Electro 35 GX

Kowa Model E

Minox B

Some sort of Minolta Autofocus point and shoot

Of the 5, only the Petri and the Minolta seem to be fully functional. I'm currently running some Tri-X through the Petri. Would love to try the Minox B as its in great condition, but sourcing film, not to mention the processing of it seems a bit of a problem.

I have no Leicas (yet!), but really interested in something like an M2, as that's probably all I can afford in the near future. I think I should probably stop 'acquiring' old non-working film cameras on eBay and start thinking about acquiring something I can use with a modicum of reliability! :)

Besides Nikon SLRs and MF Pentax gear, my film Leicas are my favorite cameras..

Regular use: M9

Irregular use: M6,Minilux, Nikon F3 , buying a new MP! Why not? From the moment I made my first shot with my M9, I began to appreciate my film cameras even more!

And look at the silver efex pro programm. Wonderful tool. It beats the work in the darkroom. Never could I get so much out of a print, but.... I surely would mis the feeling of printing my own films in the dark, when I no longer use film.

Film is the only honest medium

Painters can choose not to paint a detail, writers can choose not to include a quote, digital files can be manipulated, the neg is the truth.

One camera is all you need - MP

I love shooting with mine & can see no reason not to continue.

Just one - chrome MP. Why would I need anything more?

Weeell ... 1/4000th for a fast lens wide open on a bright day without a ND filter? I love my MP too but now it has a Hexar RF to keep it company and fill that gap.:)

That would be not true, but I completely agree with the other thought ;-)

No it is not. It is a choice out of a multitude of realities and is manipulated by the composition and timing. A photographer can choose which moment and part of the image not to include.

My point is at the time an artist choose to record a moment, you cannot undo the neg, it's embedded like no other. I agree that a photographer could choose NOT to click and ignore, but when they do, it is indeed undone.
