Nice eyes! The backgroud might be a little bit too much out of focus, the boys eyes look strange and a bit more DOF would include these boys into the situation.

Your scan may also need a bit of unsharp masking.

Still, these eyes are beautiful!

Superb. I don't know about DOF... the fact one have to guess what are the exact expressions of the background kids adds tension and helps to focus on this extraordinary face. Again, beautiful.

Thanks to everyone for the compliments. As bright as it was, this was metered handheld for 60th @ f.2- I really wanted her eyes sharp, and yes I have applied a little unsharp mask to bring out her hair and eyes a little.

Cheers, Gerard.

Gerald,

Great catch.! I much prefer this to the other shot which I think is too tight. Agree with Dan about the DOF. Any more would have been distracting. This is one fantastic expression you caught and the framing suits me fine. Well done!

Dan, William, Graham, RIchard, Ron and IIan, thanks so much for your comments. It's one of those shots where your never quite sure if you have it until you get the tranny's back. For me this was a 4 week wait till I got back home, then you have that wonderful satisfaction coming back from the processors and seeing it under the loupe for the first time :p Ahhh the satisfaction of travelling with film....

Gerard:

This is one of your best shots yet. The expression on this little girls face is priceless. Keeping the rest of the picture out of focus puts the attention on her, where it should be, she really stands out and is literally the focus of our attention. I hope you print and frame this one!

Cheers,

Wilfredo+
