roguewave Posted October 22, 2010 Share #6 Posted October 22, 2010 Graeme, I'm very curious about what your wife thinks. The 40 cron is an amazing portrait lens. I like your work in general; very clean, well organized and "proper". For me, this is the best image, including those delicious color images by the pool, I have seen from you. You should investigate this line of inquiry more often. This is great work.

stuny Posted November 11, 2010 Share #13 Posted November 11, 2010 Graeme - You've been away from us for too long, and this is a terrific calling card to remind us of you. Excellent, but perhaps even stronger with a bit cropped from the right.
Keith (M) Posted November 11, 2010 Share #14 Posted November 11, 2010 A stunning monochrome portrait with superb sharpness and tones! All that is missing is the thought-bubble saying "tch, not the camera in my face again"!

aesop Posted November 11, 2010 Share #17 Posted November 11, 2010 ...<snip>The 40 cron is an amazing portrait lens. ...Ben, it would appear the effective focal length works better as a portrait lens on an M8 than on my MPs. I have a couple of shots from this oft-ignored lens which were less than flattering because I was a tad too close to the subject. Nice work, Graeme - those sumptuous tones are simply divine. And let's hear it for the humble 40mm Summicron.
