Bateleur Posted October 21, 2009 Share #62 Posted October 21, 2009 I’d like to believe I’m a three, but then I also use Oly… and … other unmentionables so perhaps I’m a backslider?
wilfredo Posted October 22, 2009 Author Share #63 Posted October 22, 2009 I’d like to believe I’m a three, but then I also use Oly… and … other unmentionables so perhaps I’m a backslider? That would actually make you a reformed Leica, like myself, I also use other unmentionables :-) but in this liberal tradition all is acceptable. Pecole Posted October 22, 2009 Share #65 Posted October 22, 2009 I would enlist in the "Conservative" troop, but I have an hesitation : I abhor what is called "conservative" in the US and, as a moderate "european", I find more logical to align on what is called "left" in the US. So, since we are supposed to live in a democracy (I mean, in Europe), I will opt for "abstention".

Gotham Historian Posted February 23, 2010 Share #69 Posted February 23, 2010 I'm essentially a category 1, even my hunt for a bag is steering me towards the Leica Billingham bag. I'm such a sheep. However, I have a pair of Luigi strap tab guards, does that bump me to category 2?
jaapv Posted February 23, 2010 Share #70 Posted February 23, 2010 I suppose I am #3, but I am thinking of putting a gilded Icon of St.Barnack on my wall - do I progress to the Holy Orders of #2 then?
tdtaylor Posted February 24, 2010 Share #71 Posted February 24, 2010 I just can't figure out where I fit in. When it comes to my Leica equipment, I am about a 2.8. But....I often use my Nikon equipment for action, sports and wildlife.....I just can't figure it out.....am I lost in the desert destined to wander for 40 years . ismon Posted February 24, 2010 Share #72 Posted February 24, 2010 Somewhere between a .75 and 1.25. Given the choice, I'd opt for any Leica with an Elmar, Hektor, etc., to the latest, greatest anything else. Leica is a state of mind, a way of being. ( It's also a damn fine camera.) ShyTot Posted February 24, 2010 Share #74 Posted February 24, 2010 Slowly becoming a non-believer. God made me that way. As I look around the congregation I wonder why these people attend church at all.

roydonian Posted February 24, 2010 Share #77 Posted February 24, 2010 My late father would have been about 1.5 on this scale - he did have a few minor items (a couple of filters and body caps) that were not Leitz-made. Having caused an outbreak of German high blood pressure the last time I was at Solms by having a pre-war Zeiss f1.5 50mm Sonnar on my M6, I intend to really blow their fuses later this year by having an f1.4 50mm Nikkor on my M8... So I guess that makes me a 3. But we are ignoring another form of orthodoxy - the belief that all true Leica hardware was made by Ernst Leitz, Wetzlar. On that grading I would score as fairly High Church, having only three lenses that were made After The Fall. (For those raised in the One True Faith, digital hardware does not count!) Best regards, Doug
