Rona!d Posted September 30, 2009 Author Share #9 Posted September 30, 2009 That was at the place of the birth of the myth - Nürburgring race track and also at the same race, called "Eifelrennen". The main problem was to keep hundreds of people away from it and find a "very high ladder". Also have the other legendary Silver Arrows. With some of my archive stuff they might be good for a calendar. The sound of the W25 compressor was amazing at high speed. @ Azzo: I was thinking about posting it in the shadow thread, but feared the car guys would miss it then. stuny Posted September 30, 2009 Share #10 Posted September 30, 2009 Ron - I'm assuming you've already interested Daimler Benz in buying this superb photo. Everything in it is perfect - Vantage point, framing, light, contrast, tonal range, tonal richess, geometry and detail.
ddp Posted September 30, 2009 Share #11 Posted September 30, 2009 Such a great angle, lighting as well. These cars a bit like celebrities with the crowds that they draw.

Rona!d Posted November 22, 2009 Author Share #18 Posted November 22, 2009 Crosthwaite and Gardiner? That was just a question or do you have any proofs that THIS works W25 is a replica made by C&G? Be serious, please!
elansprint72 Posted November 22, 2009 Share #19 Posted November 22, 2009 That was just a question or do you have any proofs that THIS works W25 is a replica made by C&G? Be serious, please! :D:D I was forgetting, C&G only build W125, W154 and Auto-Unions. So far. Difficult to be serious in the "old" car world at the moment. http://www.crosthwaiteandgardiner.com/cgHistory.htm
Rona!d Posted November 23, 2009 Author Share #20 Posted November 23, 2009 Pete, this W25 seems to be very original. Got it´s first restauration just prior to the 75th anniversary of the Silberpfeile this year. And like with all the other Silberpfeile, there were 9 to 16 or even more made back in their time of each, so some did survive as originals and no copy. Difficult to say that about the Auto Unions
