mashnost Posted November 22, 2006 Share #1 Posted November 22, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Taken at St. Louis Zoo through the glass,of course...came out with good color and sharpness considering it was taken in a herpatarium (reptile house). mashnost Posted November 22, 2006 Author Share #4 Posted November 22, 2006 Hi Rogelio, That is an impressive image. Incredible detail. What were the exposure settings please? ISO 100, f/3.2, 1/15sec,no flash, and white balance set to "tungsten". It was really hard shooting inside the reptile house as flash is completely useless with the animals behind glass. I bracketed 3 shots and this one came out the best. Also, someone pointed out to me that this in indeed not a viper but a Green Tree Python (non-venemous). I'd still rather not meet either one of them in the wild!
fotografr Posted November 22, 2006 Share #5 Posted November 22, 2006 Really beautiful! Even the background works.
leicamann Posted November 22, 2006 Share #6 Posted November 22, 2006 This is indeed a really beautiful shot, worthy of archiving and printing. Colors and textures and overall design of the image work as a whole..well done. Now folks we are seeing some great photography presented here, I will be the first to shoot down anyone that makes a blanket , overall disparaging remark about the mediocre and "uninspiring" photography being posted on the forum, clearly this is pure hokkum and should be called thus. Thanks for sharing Regards, Leicamann

mashnost Posted November 24, 2006 Author Share #8 Posted November 24, 2006 just to let people know, the green background is the original image. This zoo tended to match the backboards to the color of the snakes. Thanks for all the wonderful comments! Mashnost
