Well, it's black and appear to be a 1996 lens. But their price is not much different than the chrome from 1964 for example (which is only 100 € less).

You can always e-mail them and ask about specific serial number lenses. They can give somewhat of an estimate and offer buying, commission sales, taking in your used lens in exchange for new/used equipment.

You can check lenses here

Are you sure yours looks exactly the same at the one in their photo. I have a black tabbed 50mm Summicron which looks very similar but on close inspection I think the rear ring with the red dot and aperture scale is a larger diameter on mine. Also it doesn't have any milled ridges on the ring either side of the focus tab like the one in the photo. Does yours have a built in hood like the Meister Camera one, mine doesn't.

I'm told the one I have is not common but not that rare either.

Bob.

Yours must be the 11819 i guess. It is the longest living Summicron 50 (1978-1994) with convex focus tab from 1978 to 1980 if i'm not wrong (pic below) and a concave one afterwards. Uses 12585 (metal) and 12538 (plastic) separate hoods.

If you're referring to this one --

MEISTER CAMERA Berlin: Leica M Objektive[backPID]=86&tx_ttproducts_pi1[begin_at]=20&tx_ttproducts_pi1[product]=4593

-- it looks as if the tab may be an after-purchase addition. I have never seen a 50/2 with that kind of deep, sculpted tab -- it looks like the kind found mre frequently on Leica's latest lenses, especially wides.

The 50/1.4 asph has the same tab as well. Has been attached to this current 50/2 on request apparently.
