Massive thanks to Riccis for showing what the M9 can do in weak natural light. Tungsten light and in-camera jpg samples do not make for a particularly meaningful conclusion for the kind of low light shooting I like to do in the long scandinavian summer evenings.

Thanks again.:)

Cheers,

Thank you for sharing all these files. The look, as in tones and noise, are very pleasing. The new Noct certainly provides a means for selective focus! You clearly understand this lens.

What did you use for RAW conversions?

Nice series. It looks like you've mastered quick focus with the new Nocti - what a great lens it is. There will always be complaints from people who will never be satisfied even with current technology. The truth is you've proven that if one knows how to handle a camera and lens, one can obtain excellent results.

looks like the M9 will be a winner

the high ISO performance seems more than adequate, particularly as the file size is so much larger

thanks for taking the time to share these

I don't know about that. I would feel severly hampered by not being able to shoot at 12,500 ISO. ;)

The only thing I don't like about these photos is you have an M9 and I don't! I've got cash in hand and no camera to be found anywhere.

Charles, have you considered buying from the UK? I know at least one London dealer with a short waiting list who will have stock within about 10 days. My own (different) London dealer has already had two deliveries (15 units) and is confident of another within the next 5 days. The UK price (once you take out the 15% VAT) is pretty much the same as the USA and you get the benefit of 2 year passport warranty (jn addition to the standard international one).

I doubt I'll have time when I'm in London to track one down (with wife and a seven month old in tow). Will have more time in Dusseldorf when visiting my wife's family and maybe I'll get lucky and stumble across one.

Problem is not sure how the crossover with Passport works to the US. I'm sure my dealer will have one for me soon enough. But thanks for thinking of me!
