ArtZ Posted August 3, 2009 Share #61 Posted August 3, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) ...As to the film, that's more difficult. It has a blue cast, so Fuji comes to mind (although the Fuji films I use are not THAT bluish)... Andy, My first thought was Kodachrome... and then Fuji and back to Kodachrome and then back to Fuji... Andy, I agree there's something weird for a Fuji. That's the reason for my hesitation between Provia and Velvia... Now you mention the blue cast, I start considering again Kodachrome film... on a cloudy day, you can get that blue cast on leaves, trees... with Kodachrome film. As the picture is very small and we have no crops at 100%, it makes it more difficult. Let's take the risk of saying the film is Kodachrome! C'mon guys, next time please post 100% crops and pictures taken wide opened

JBA Posted August 3, 2009 Share #63 Posted August 3, 2009 This was shot as close to wide open as possible, which means it was stopped down no more than one stop max. A clue about the film: That day I was using both my M bodies, one with Velvia 50 and one with Kodachrome. Which one is this?
adan Posted August 4, 2009 Author Share #64 Posted August 4, 2009 Kodachrome 64 (nothing else does those inky cyan shadows and cool skin tones), and 135 Tele-Elmar.
ArtZ Posted August 4, 2009 Share #65 Posted August 4, 2009 Yes, I confirm my choices: Kodachrome 64 and Summicron-M 90 APO ASPH
wizard Posted August 4, 2009 Share #66 Posted August 4, 2009 That day I was using both my M bodies, one with Velvia 50 and one with Kodachrome. Which one is this? Well, with this additional information I am with ArtZ, it must be Kodachrome. Velvia would be significantly more color saturated. Andy
luigi bertolotti Posted August 4, 2009 Share #67 Posted August 4, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I don't guess on film: about the lens, agree on 90, but.. to me is not an ASPH... and my guess is for a non-Summicron... let'say an Elmarit 90 at 2,8 or even 4. luigi bertolotti Posted August 4, 2009 Share #68 Posted August 4, 2009 I don't guess on film: about the lens, agree on 90, but.. to me is not an ASPH... and my guess is for a non-Summicron... let'say an Elmarit 90 at 2,8 or even 4. ... see the OOF of foliage at right... and Andy guess for a 135 can be on target... I frankly was someway uncertain to agree on the 90 (and, just around my previous pic... ... it surely is NOT an Elmar 105 f 6,3 )
JBA Posted August 4, 2009 Share #69 Posted August 4, 2009 Luigi, you are absolutely correct. It is NOT the Mountain Elmar 10.5cm f6.3!
luigi bertolotti Posted August 4, 2009 Share #70 Posted August 4, 2009 Luigi, you are absolutely correct. It is NOT the Mountain Elmar 10.5cm f6.3! Ok, as a hint is not so significant ... can you tell us if it's a Leica lens or not...?
lct Posted August 4, 2009 Share #71 Posted August 4, 2009 Ok, as a hint is not so significant ... can you tell us if it's a Leica lens or not...? After removing the blue cast i would say pre-asph Summilux 50 on Velvia
lct Posted August 4, 2009 Share #72 Posted August 4, 2009 This was shot as close to wide open as possible... Ah yes, so Summicron 90 instead.
SJP Posted August 4, 2009 Share #73 Posted August 4, 2009 TE 90/2.8 (fat) at f/2.8, after a CLA
JBA Posted August 4, 2009 Share #74 Posted August 4, 2009 Ok, as a hint is not so significant ... can you tell us if it's a Leica lens or not...? Leica lens, younger than your daughters.
luigi bertolotti Posted August 4, 2009 Share #75 Posted August 4, 2009 Leica lens, younger than your daughters. Ok, I insist on Elmarit 90 ... I liked the idea of the TE prospected by SJP, but the fat is older than my daughters...
JBA Posted August 4, 2009 Share #76 Posted August 4, 2009 Some very interesting educated guesses here, but it's time to break the suspense and clear the deck for the next photo. The film is indeed Kodachrome 64 and the lens is the Apo 90 Summicron Asph. shot at either f2.5 or 2.8. Congraulations to ArtZ and Andy (Wizard), who got them both. Incidentally, I probably need to calibrate my monitor, because I do not see any blue cast at all in this photo.

luigi bertolotti Posted August 5, 2009 Share #78 Posted August 5, 2009 So what was the price? A trip to Japan? I start packing my cameras! :D Let's wait for the next picture... Revealing typo ... ... in Leica world we are too accustomed to anything having a PRICE...
epand56 Posted August 5, 2009 Share #79 Posted August 5, 2009 I'd say Summilux 50/1.4 ASPH wide open I don't think is that, the bokeh of the Lux 5o asph is quite different. None of the lens I have makes that kind of bokeh Oh, I'm late as usual, the game is over...
ArtZ Posted August 5, 2009 Share #80 Posted August 5, 2009 Revealing typo ... ... in Leica world we are too accustomed to anything having a PRICE... Luigi, Oops! I meant prix! (not price) I suppose I mixed French and English. "Prix" in French means price... and it was 6:21 AM... still sleeping... Enrico, You can post a picture... to keep the game alive Cheers to all .
