This is not a replica or scale model. This one third of a meter high device is one of the thrusters from an Apollo service module. I saw it in a window on Madison Avenue early Friday morning, one of several “space” objects to be auctioned 16th July.

Interesting picture, Stuart, of a real piece of history as the 40th anniversary of the first moon landing is coming up soon. In addition to this piece's gavel price, I would be interested in what it initally cost Uncle Sam. A pretty penny I would guess.

Paul - Thank you. Excellent idea.

John - Thank you, and I'll be you're right.

Marco - While at summer camp in the mid 1950s in New Hampshire, six of the older boys bought a very old (late 1920s, early 1930s) sedan, got it running, painted it shiny black, painted a red cycle and hammer on each front door, and mounted a large, fake machine gun on the roof (they made if from various bits of metal and pipe). They found it was interesting when on the road if somebody would drive too close, to swivel the gun around to facing backwards. The other driver always applied the brakes. Firmly.
