stuny Posted May 21, 2009 Share #2 Posted May 21, 2009 Charlie - What fun, and very well shot for composition, subject, detail and depth.
elansprint72 Posted May 21, 2009 Share #3 Posted May 21, 2009 Matra 12 is the best-ever engine sound, bar none; including those BRM screamers; they were not even second, that honour goes to Mazda, whose 80s sports-cars sounded like a dive-bomber. Yet more super shots, Top Ox.

topoxforddoc Posted May 22, 2009 Author Share #5 Posted May 22, 2009 Stuart, Pete and Ronald, Thank you. Modern F1 cars really don't have the same elegance or make the same noise as these beauties from the 60s and 70s did. Drivers aren't same either. vdb Posted May 22, 2009 Share #6 Posted May 22, 2009 Excellent for composition, sharpness, and tones. I only wish I could hear it.
USA road racer Posted May 25, 2009 Share #7 Posted May 25, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) GREAT PHOTO !!! But I still get chills up my spine when I recall the scream of this engine as it came up the Andretti straight at Mosport Park Raceway in Mosport, Ontario, Canada. As a turn marshal at the end of the straight, all of us couldn't wait for the next lap to witness this "sound" yet again!
topoxforddoc Posted May 25, 2009 Author Share #8 Posted May 25, 2009 Virgil & USA Road Racer, Thank you. Maybe Nick Mason (the Pink Floyd drummer and car racer/collector) should drive and record one. His book 'Into the Red' catalogued his favourite cars and had a CD soundtrack too! Charlie
