Nicoleica Posted May 18, 2009 Share #22 Posted May 18, 2009 Watch the 2004 film "EuroTrip". I won't issue spoilers, but one guy has a rather memorable experience entirely due carrying a Leica. Very funny! I thought that film was an advert for Leica. There are several used in it.

J_Thompson Posted May 19, 2009 Share #28 Posted May 19, 2009 What lens are you using Steven?
carstenw Posted May 19, 2009 Share #29 Posted May 19, 2009 Looks like a 35 Cron ASPH. Steve, forgive me if I am remembering wrong, but I am not sure this counts towards the M8 being a babe-magnet, since I presume this is one of your employees. markgay Posted May 19, 2009 Share #30 Posted May 19, 2009 Since, in Moscow, the M8 is more likely to remind people of their dedushka with his Fed the answer is no, it is not a babe magnet. On the other hand, I never suffer those "OMG, will I get mugged wearing my male jewellery in Paris" moments. Regards, Markusha
Rona!d Posted May 19, 2009 Share #31 Posted May 19, 2009 I recognized the Steve McQueen jacket... couldn't it be that the babe-magnet? Well, these jackets are causing big smiles on classic car events (a lot of "Wanna Be McQueens" around) but maybe the chi**s, em girls, still love them:D A lot of fashion magazine readers now know about the price of a new Leica M because of all the special editions promoted there, maybe that´s why they notice an M as a kind of "must have" today. steamboat Posted May 19, 2009 Share #32 Posted May 19, 2009 "shooters and hooters" - classic. I hate to say it but depending on who's asking (about my M8) I no longer tell them it's the brand of camera that HCB uses. It's the one Eric Clapton uses. Also Miley Cyrus (USA teen star) uses for her Twitter picture. Eric's name seems to hit all the demographics except the tweens and then Miley's name works well. LOL. Nicoleica Posted May 19, 2009 Share #38 Posted May 19, 2009 Thanks Enrico, but don't worry, that's not me being pinned down in the picture. Being an old bat, I only hang from the ceiling. Although I am still wondering if there's a fault with my M8, as it only seems to attract gentlemen old enough to have gone to school with Fox Talbot when I venture out with it these days. Should I send it back to Solms for a check?
Bo_Lorentzen Posted May 19, 2009 Share #39 Posted May 19, 2009 Nicole, Clearly you need to upgrade to either the limited edition white M8 or a safari with matching lens. Whatever you do, make sure to clean the camera with a alcohol solution whenever it have been close to cigar smoke, as it is well known that leica cameras with a smell of leather and cigars have a tendency to bring out the best in older men and you are sure to have a line of them following you through the streets.. .
