Cat or no cat: this is one fine photo! And the toning is awesome. Gorman? Or something new you tried?

I'm a creature of habit - it's Gorman all the way. I've just started enjoying experimenting with this method.

Sharookh,

I also keep on coming back to Gorman and will probably build some kind of workflow incorporating the best of LAB, Gorman and some other tricks. What settings did you use for this rendering? I mean color, percentages, etc. in the Gorman method?

Nice

Who is Gorman ?

Where is the cat ?

Albert, here's the information . Do a Google search for 'Gorman-Holbert B&W Conversion.atn' for the Photoshop action.

The cat is just over half way down, aproximately one third the way in from the right. Two bright eyes and a striped chest. It's just underneath a reed head. :D

I tend to start the rendering with RGB being in the region of approximately 70% / 45% / 35%. Then once I multiply the layer, I fiddle the warmth of the colour to taste along with an adjustment of curves. I think the most important aspect here is the calibration of my monitor - that helps a great deal!

Hope that helps -
