Michael Hiles Posted August 2, 2017 Share #17102 Posted August 2, 2017 (edited) Yes! I guess "small" can be interpreted. Small compared to the Atlantic, very large compared to a duck pond. And special clue - salt water. Edited August 2, 2017 by Michael Hiles

Michael Hiles Posted August 2, 2017 Share #17104 Posted August 2, 2017 Belgium? O so close. Your other optional guess would have likely done it.
Jim-St Posted August 2, 2017 Share #17105 Posted August 2, 2017 Gotta be the Netherlands, then... Haarlem? (only been there once, for a quick lunch on the way to the boat at Ijmuiden, no time to look around any churches, so that's as close in as I can zoom....) Michael Hiles Posted August 3, 2017 Share #17106 Posted August 3, 2017 The Netherlands it is - and Yes - Haarlem. The Church is famous - it would be nice if someone could come up with its name. Or even 2 alternate names.

Dan Bachmann Posted August 6, 2017 Share #17108 Posted August 6, 2017 It must be Bavokerk (St. Bravo Church)
Michael Geschlecht Posted August 19, 2017 Share #17109 Posted August 19, 2017 Hello Michael, What did you think of Dan's answer?Best Regards, Michael
Michael Hiles Posted August 19, 2017 Share #17110 Posted August 19, 2017 Oh dear. I thought I had responded. Apologies. It is indeed the Grote Kirk (dedicated to St. Bavos) in the main square in Haarlem. Again, apologies for the hold up. A related story - back in the day, the well-to-do in Haarlem (Frans Hals amongst them) were buried under the floor of the church, and the rotting bodies generated a nasty smell. The result was that they became known as "the stinking rich".
Michael Hiles Posted August 20, 2017 Share #17111 Posted August 20, 2017 And, of course, over to Dan.

Michael Geschlecht Posted September 18, 2017 Share #17113 Posted September 18, 2017 Hello Everybody, It would appear that Dan has gone to Haarlem to do his own photo of the Grote Kirk. Might there be another photo out there looking to be part of a panalopy of peoples photos which might be usable while we are waiting for Dan to re-appear?Best Regards, Michael
Michael Hiles Posted September 18, 2017 Share #17114 Posted September 18, 2017 (edited) At Michael's suggestion I am prepared to be a nuisance again. This is well known enough that we should expect the name, and some details of where. This may be the most beautiful bridge in the world. And there is the first clue - it is a bridge. And I know it - a better print is possible. Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! Michael Geschlecht Posted September 19, 2017 Share #17115 Posted September 19, 2017 (edited) Hello Michael, You are never a "nuisance" & it is always a pleasure when you are here. By the way, gramatically it is incorrect to personify yourself as the "nuisance". It is what a person says or does that might be a "nuisance". Inappropriate & inaccurate self deprecation is inappropriate. Just a "pulled out of a hat" wild guess: Could we be somewhere in France? Best Regards, Michael Edited September 19, 2017 by Michael Geschlecht
Michael Hiles Posted September 19, 2017 Share #17116 Posted September 19, 2017 (edited) Thanks Michael - your are a gracious man. I'll try not too create a nuisance (hope that's right). My wife will not be hopeful. Very far from France. Edited September 19, 2017 by Michael Hiles

otto.f Posted September 19, 2017 Share #17119 Posted September 19, 2017 Could it be in Beijing somewhere near the SummerPalace of the last empress, dragon lady?
Michael Hiles Posted September 19, 2017 Share #17120 Posted September 19, 2017 Beijing, Summer Palace is absolutely right. Much beloved of the Empress Dowager Cixi. If you know the name of the bridge, even better. But lets say the next round is to you Otto.
