Guest guy_mancuso Posted March 4, 2009 Share #181 Posted March 4, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hey i already have one of those don't need two. LOL Man this is a old thread but just for the record i wound up with the F803 for a Body and 3 lenses or 5 stacked and when I had the whole M8 system the J-803 which held 2 bodies with lenses plus 4 more or up to 4 more stacked. I also had a nice thing to get is the Billingham shoulder pad. I actually just sold these two bags since i have out grown the size for the MF stuff but these are two really great bags and there not expensive and they don't look like camera bags. If i was still shooting the M8 the F-803 is a great great bag with One body and and a couple lenses. For larger systems folks like your DSLR's and MF take a look at the Think Tank backpacks the Street walker and the pro version. i just got the Pro version and a very nice bag. Some things have not changed i am still a camera bag whore. LOL

gDallasK Posted March 4, 2009 Share #184 Posted March 4, 2009 so, how many of you place your leica lenses in the leather pouch & the pouch in the bag or do you just go bare back?? I also put the leather pouches back into the Leica box and store them - don't they smell lovely though. To protect lenses in the field I keep them in these little Hama padded drawstring pouches. And I attach engraved plastic key fobs so I can always tell which lens is inside. I usually carry everything (M8, G1 + lenses etc) in a Billingham Hadley Pro (Black) or if I'm only taking a couple of lenses and an M8, a Hadley Digital (also black). In the latter case I have to leave the Hama bags at home - they don't fit. Welcome, dear visitor! jevidon Posted March 5, 2009 Share #185 Posted March 5, 2009 After spending a lot of time on the internet, surfing for bags and finding several excellent products, I settled on the Billingham Hadley Pro. It seemed a little large at first, but after adding a fine used M4P + my M8 as well as an ever growing inventory of lenses, it has probably reached it's limit. It is a really fine bag which I use now, not while shooting, but for traveling. For shooting, I invested in a belt and pouch system by Lowe-Pro. It's a great walk around product and I can add or subtract pouches as I choose depending on what I take with me. The pouches are well padded, come in various sizes and can be removed or added to the belt, secured by very heavy duty Velcro. Great Product! That along with my photo vest for odds and ends does the trick. Now the only thing hanging around my neck or over the shoulder is the camera. And my back and shoulders feel much better. Guest guy_mancuso Posted March 5, 2009 Share #187 Posted March 5, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Yes Bill and i miss the M8 very much. I still get to play once in awhile. Leica will send some demo gear out to me for the workshops actually every workshop. They are great about supporting us but I do miss it. But the sad truth is i had to sell everything to get into the Phase MF system and I held on to the M8 and the 28 cron till the last darn second I could. Btw after going through many M lenses my final ones that I had the Leica 21 2.8, Leica 28 cron , 50mm lux pre-asph and the 75 cron with a 12mm CV in there. In all honesty if you follow that same path you simply cannot go wrong. Folks should think about that when buying. I tried them all and there are some beauties these just kind of stick with you. But I do stay in touch with leica and as always I loved the DMR and the M8 so i still highly recommend them. Just can't have your cake and eat it to sometimes. The nice thing is i have 4 years or more of some great images and I will be back. I'm looking at the S2
Guest guy_mancuso Posted March 5, 2009 Share #188 Posted March 5, 2009 Just out of curiosity since this thread goes all the way back to the M8 release be interesting to see how many have switched bags out since than. I started with the Artisians and wound up with Domke. LOL
4season Posted March 5, 2009 Share #189 Posted March 5, 2009 What a surreal moment when I started browsing this thread and thought everyone had mysteriously gone back to shooting film again I use a Domke satchel with a Tenba insert, and have used either a Tenba or Domke satchel for years. Tried Billingham, and more conventional looking camera bags, but keep returning to the satchel style. Favorite Domke satchel features: The two deep front pockets, the large rear pocket (not quite as large as I'd like), and the zippered pockets on the flap. Least-favorite feature: The metal clasp on the front flap, which sometimes whacks me in the face! I wish too that the main compartment would open a bit wider, accordion-like. Doc Henry Posted March 5, 2009 Share #191 Posted March 5, 2009 Who reanimated this thread then?? Anyway, my A&A 1-day oscar bag or whatever it is called is waterproof and is much better built than anything else I can recall.Meanwhile it also looks used, scruffy and cheap which is good for keeping the thieving sub-species' hands at bay. Hi Stephen,Sorry to answer now.... I just read this thread after a long absence and i just buy 3 M cameras so i am looking for camera bags

Doc Henry Posted March 5, 2009 Share #195 Posted March 5, 2009 At least you used the search function rather than starting another new thread, which is as it should be. Bravo. Thanks Steve, It's a problem : after i buy my cameras i am asking myself if i can let them outside without protection (because i am careful) particularly after we are losing a lot of money So i think if i buy cameras bags it's not a bad idea according to me,even if it's expensive To day at my Leica adviser , I saw a small but beautiful Billingham bag making specially for Leica (color sable) it costs 230 Euros you can only put one M and lens inside !
