jaapv Posted November 24, 2008 Share #1 Posted November 24, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) Most antelopes leave their young. Predator defense is the motionless cowering of the babies, and they are totally without smell. In open landscape, like here, where the grass has gone due to fire, it leaves them quite exposed. Still, the Oribi is not a very common Antelope and one like this is a rare find. Obviously we did not disturb it. M8, TE 135/4.

luigi bertolotti Posted November 28, 2008 Share #3 Posted November 28, 2008 Fantastic crispness, and tenderness... to be coupled with the baby elephant you posted here before.... some other babies coming ? This is too delicious... and the pic is so sharp that I bet I'll have a good print even from the jpg, with your permission (my youngest daughter, 10, likes a lot to have such pics in her sleeping room... but I've never been in Africa... ... so no much more that some kittens, little dogs and horses, and chicks )
