photophile Posted November 18, 2008 Share #1 Posted November 18, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) A general question and the moderator can move the post if more appropriate elsewhere. I have now gotten thousands of images with my M8 - and very pleased with the overall image quality, texture and output. ( not to mention the scans from the old and trusted M6) I have until now, used LR to show my images to clients in a "slide show" - but am interested in a more dedicated software for presentation. I would like it to offer transistions, music, pan and zoom components etc.. WITHOUT the learning curve of Adobe Premiere. Can anybody offer any suggestions or experiences in a user friendly, intuitive program for slide shows? Thanks. CH

terrycioni Posted November 18, 2008 Share #2 Posted November 18, 2008 If you are using a Mac - I recommend fotomagico from Bonix software. http://www.boinx.com/fotomagico/ Best regards Terry.
mtomalty Posted November 18, 2008 Share #3 Posted November 18, 2008 I second Terry's recommendation. Fotomagico is an excellent slideshow software for Mac A little cheaper and less featured, but still very capable, is Soundslides Mark

Guest noah_addis Posted November 19, 2008 Share #8 Posted November 19, 2008 I've always used soundslides, though I've only tried it on a mac. It's really easy to use and fast, which is nice on deadline. http://videos.nj.com/star-ledger/2008/06/the_nj_guard_fly_out_to_texas.html This was done on soundslides, and took very little time to put together. Almost all M8, by the way.
cmarbach Posted November 20, 2008 Share #9 Posted November 20, 2008 I use Pictures to exe which creates an .exe file that can be run on any Windows machine. I put it to music, it has transitions and text capability. Just Google Pictures to exe.
como Posted November 20, 2008 Share #10 Posted November 20, 2008 When you are looking for a professional program with several audio channels, zooming and panning of frames, speaker support and so on have a look at the Wings Platinum 3 software at www.AVstumpfl.com - Screens - Pro - AV Co
vanhulsenbeek Posted November 20, 2008 Share #11 Posted November 20, 2008 When you are looking for a professional program with several audio channels, zooming and panning of frames, speaker support and so on have a look at the Wings Platinum 3 software at www.AVstumpfl.com - Screens - Pro - AV Co Wings Platinum 3 software also has a very good MPG Codec integrated and excellent video integration as well. There is a Basic version which is free upon a simple registration. Exe files, like Pictures to EXE makes, are useless on the Internet. The Deluxe version of Pictures to EXE has output to DVD, but you need additional conversion to use that on the Internet. Before diving into any one of these programs, really think well what you wish the end-result to be.
John Thawley Posted November 20, 2008 Share #12 Posted November 20, 2008 Soundslides Soundslides: Software for Storytellers Soundslides borders on perfection in simplicity of use to final results. I use it on a weekly basis to create event "portofolios" on my web site.
earleygallery Posted November 20, 2008 Share #13 Posted November 20, 2008 I have been thinking of buying some slide show software as the stuff that came loaded on my PC doesn't work. Soundslides 'sounds' like it might fit the bill for me, I want something very simple/quick to use etc. Is it suitable for making slide shows to play on DVD's ?? hdg Posted November 20, 2008 Share #14 Posted November 20, 2008 I have both, Wings Platinum 3.6b and Pitures to Exe. If you need an exacte synchronisation of pictures and music you better should take Wings. But please note to produce a (semi-)professional slide show means to invest a lot of work and time. Further you will need a lot of experience. Important: Your slide show should be a short show. 10 minutes will be enought! Regards Hans
