kld Posted October 9, 2006 Share #3 Posted October 9, 2006 The contrast of the white roofs adds to the eerie, grim ugliness of the building. The scenery seems to appeal the audience. Very moody, great illumination, fascinating photo. What kind of monster is this? Looks like a cousin of Tschernobyl. -- Klaus
elansprint72 Posted October 9, 2006 Share #4 Posted October 9, 2006 Nice shot with foreground interest. Algie the inflatable pig is long gone! Cheers, Pete.

According to this he didn't do such a great job http://pinkfloyd-co.com/disco/animals/animals_trivia.html Tnx for all the comments
Michael-IIIf Posted October 9, 2006 Author Share #12 Posted October 9, 2006 I'm a big fan of Sir Giles Gilbert Scott, and this is one of his iconic buildings, almost as iconic as the ubiquitous red telephone box he also designed, but it has become better known around the world as the cover to Pink Floyd's album. Now it doesn't look right without the pig - I think the new developers should fly one there permanently

Thanks for reminding me who designed it Michael. When I posted I just could not recall! As you know, and for general info, he also designed Bankside power Station - now the Tate Modern Gallery (courtesy of Herzog, de Meuron)
