Guest s.m.e.p. Posted October 20, 2008 Share #2 Posted October 20, 2008 Don´t know why he chooses technical pan. If I want to stress photo editors I let them search for Agfachrome 1000 RS Prof. - the slide film with the most impressionist grain ever. More rare than technical pan. earleygallery Posted October 20, 2008 Share #3 Posted October 20, 2008 Curious choice, and nice photos. I have a couple of rolls in the freezer - had an idea of using it for making some screen prints of old photos but yet another project that hasn't come to fruition! boilerdoc Posted October 23, 2008 Share #5 Posted October 23, 2008 I doubt it was Tech Pan that he used. The shots are soft, moody, dark, and grainy. Emphasis on the grainy. Gorgeous nonetheless and i and very impressed with the artisitic eye that he has! Kudos to him. Od course the subject matter makes it easy! Where did you find the info on film, camera, etc.? gyoung Posted October 23, 2008 Share #6 Posted October 23, 2008 Don´t know why he chooses technical pan. If I want to stress photo editors I let them search for Agfachrome 1000 RS Prof. - the slide film with the most impressionist grain ever. More rare than technical pan. I remember trying some Ansco 1600 asa slide film many years ago, it looked more like Dufay than a modern slide film! Gerry
boilerdoc Posted October 23, 2008 Share #7 Posted October 23, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) OK. I read the article closer and he shot a few highly detailed close ups with the Tech Pan it and some sort of Ilford for the grainy images (?3200). It's the dark grainy ones that I recall the best. Very well done. I have a few rolls in the freezer he could have used! Steve
KM-25 Posted October 23, 2008 Share #8 Posted October 23, 2008 Don´t know why he chooses technical pan. It's outstanding film, very unique, incredible with Leica glass. It is also renown for being very kind to skin tones with a red sensitive lean. I plan on shooting it in a few years when I am done with the Kodachrome Project. I have 150 rolls of it in 35mm and 125 rolls of it in 120, bottom of the big freezer at -20.
dritz Posted October 23, 2008 Share #9 Posted October 23, 2008 Recommendations on processing? I recently acquired 40 rolls of 35mm and 200 4x5 sheets (now in my freezer). I have some technidol, but other processing recommendations? Thanks. Dean
KM-25 Posted October 23, 2008 Share #10 Posted October 23, 2008 Technidol is the best, but Formulary TD3 is supposed to be good too. I have enough Technidol for 1/2 of my film. the rest will be TD3. Check out APUG.org for more details on that... Recommendations on processing? I recently acquired 40 rolls of 35mm and 200 4x5 sheets (now in my freezer).
