Michael Hiles Posted September 29, 2008 Share #4 Posted September 29, 2008 Good picture. Tells an evocative story. The workers moved on - to what, why... Makes you think, and that's good.
imported_peter_m Posted October 15, 2008 Share #5 Posted October 15, 2008 That is quite a chunk of iron, some sort of press? Nicely framed and great light. Peter
digger1914 Posted October 15, 2008 Author Share #6 Posted October 15, 2008 Peter, I am informed by those who know that it is a press. The workshop is in a disused shipyard. Thanks
imported_peter_m Posted October 16, 2008 Share #7 Posted October 16, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) That would explain the size of the thing, never seen a press that big. You sure captured it well. Peter
biglouis Posted October 16, 2008 Share #8 Posted October 16, 2008 Great picture, the lighting is very atmospheric. Did that press come all the way from Glasgow? Or is there a Glasgow in Austrailia, as well? LouisB
digger1914 Posted October 16, 2008 Author Share #9 Posted October 16, 2008 Louis, thanks for that! It is the Glasgow in Scotland. There is heaps of huge gear there from the UK. when they built it we had a tendancy to get everything from "the mother country". Quite how they shipped these things out here, heaven knows!
