jmr Posted September 24, 2006 Share #2 Posted September 24, 2006 Dave, love the simplicity of the first shot, very subtle.

harmsr Posted September 25, 2006 Share #7 Posted September 25, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Dave, All of them are nicely composed. #1 should be framed and hanging on your wall. Best, Ray
andybarton Posted September 25, 2006 Share #8 Posted September 25, 2006 Like the first one. Is it so dreadful in color? It is in colour, from where I'm sitting. Excellent collection, here, Dave. Number 1 for me too.
stuny Posted September 25, 2006 Share #9 Posted September 25, 2006 Dave - A lovely series, and #1 is among the best you've posted. It's also interesting that only Andy picked up on the subtle color -- color that enhances the image.
andybarton Posted September 25, 2006 Share #10 Posted September 25, 2006 Nice to know my eyes still work, Stuart It's the Polaris submarine in the lake that we should be more worried about...

lambroving Posted September 25, 2006 Share #12 Posted September 25, 2006 Was waiting for somebody to notice that! Dave And I've been waiting for you to explain your choice to de-saturate this image to this extent. Just curious. Never had any color film respond to a scene like this the way you've depicted it. Did your de-saturation add or subtract in your opinion? You were there.
stunsworth Posted September 25, 2006 Share #13 Posted September 25, 2006 Perhaps Dave just prefered it that way.
zanydave Posted September 25, 2006 Author Share #14 Posted September 25, 2006 William, the shot was taken with a DMR so no film involved. 100 ASA simply underexposed by 1 stop to retain detail in the sky. The only PS work was to resize for the web. Thanks for your comments guys. Much appreciated. Dave
Michael-IIIf Posted September 25, 2006 Share #15 Posted September 25, 2006 Dave, There are all strong photographs. I was there too at the weekend - didn't bag anything as good as these Thanks for sharing Michael
andybarton Posted September 25, 2006 Share #16 Posted September 25, 2006 And I've been waiting for you to explain your choice to de-saturate this image to this extent. Just curious. Never had any color film respond to a scene like this the way you've depicted it. Did your de-saturation add or subtract in your opinion? You were there. William. I can confirm that this is what real (not tourist) Wales looks like.
leicamann Posted September 26, 2006 Share #17 Posted September 26, 2006 I thought thats what it was..what ta heck is a Sub doing there??? Nice series. Thanks for sharing Regards, Leicamann
robert_parker Posted September 26, 2006 Share #18 Posted September 26, 2006 Really nice series - I personally like #3 because of the way that the detail of the ripples and eddies in the water have been retained, which is rare in this type of shot. meatboy Posted September 27, 2006 Share #19 Posted September 27, 2006 I think 2 and 3 are great, but #1 is outstanding. I'd be doing a large wall print of that one if it was mine! Tim
