ezc203 Posted January 7, 2010 Share #83 Posted January 7, 2010 Hey fellow M4-P user, I have a problem with my beauty and could use some advice. When I use my camera at shutter speeds lower that 1/15s, after I click the crank becomes stuck and refusing to wound the film. However, this problem is solved when I turn the shutter speed dial back to 1/60s and it cranks properly again. Haven't had a chance to develop the photos from these situations yet, so I'm not sure what the result looks like. Anyone have any idea what's the problem? Should I just send it in for CLA? Thanks in advance,

Xmas Posted May 6, 2010 Share #89 Posted May 6, 2010 Hi, Sounds like your slow shutterspeeds are sticking. You may need to have a CLA, clean lubricate and adjust done to your M4-P. regards Seconded, the lube in the slow speed escapement is probably waxy, the only thing you might do is to leave in cool part of airing cupboard for 24 hours and then run the 1/15 for 100 shots, then 100 1/8s, etc.,... that might save the day, but you would be on borrowed time. FIrst cool day of autumn... Don't use 1/15 - 1 second is other option, & that is probably how you got to where you are now. Noel
