MPerson Posted March 3, 2008 Share #321 Posted March 3, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hmmm... I think there's something not quite right about how the "number of views" and "most viewed" function is working. Up to the last 3 days the most viewed pictures had a count of around 170 but overnight this has jumped to more than 1000 for some pictures which were posted less than 18 hrs ago. Very strange. Bob. Bob I was wondering about that last night. The views on my image were into the hundreds and this morning stood at 966!! Very weird.

dorman Posted March 3, 2008 Share #323 Posted March 3, 2008 Congratulations to those involved in making all this happen. The Google map facility is fantastic. When placing my pin I was able to zoom right in and, using the Satellite option, I placed it exactly at the spot where I took the picture. The satellite image shows the market stalls just as in my picture. Perhaps others would like to do the same. You can edit your pin position. Is there a way to get to someone's map pin directly from their picture?
farnz Posted March 3, 2008 Share #324 Posted March 3, 2008 ... You can edit your pin position.... In my haste to post I might not have zoomed in far enough before dropping my pin; can someone kindly explain how I can edit my pin position please? Thanks, Pete
stunsworth Posted March 3, 2008 Share #325 Posted March 3, 2008 Pete, zoom to where you want the new location to be, then select 'Your entry' from the top of the map, and then click on the map where you want your pin to be.

vertekijker Posted March 4, 2008 Share #327 Posted March 4, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have the same problem - I used the street map, but after I saw the satellite picture, I knew I had gone a bit too far north. I'm going to try it right now! Thanks.

stunsworth Posted March 5, 2008 Share #334 Posted March 5, 2008 Including one that appears to be from a small rock in the middle of the North Sea <grin>. Seriously how did you get there, and what's it like? Congratulation to Bill for the original idea.
Cindy Flood Posted March 5, 2008 Share #335 Posted March 5, 2008 I am undergoing treatment for the big C this week and I can't tell you the pleasure that I have gotten out of the fact that over 300 people from around the world have taken out their gear and used it. The map is just so interesting, and I have looked and enjoyed every picture as they are posted. Congratulations to all of the people that put this wonderful day together and I hope to participate in the next Leica Day.

Get very well soon and keeping taking the pictures. Steve' PS: I'm happy to say I'm rather a lot of Euros down thanks to you - I recently ordered a Luigi case for my M8 - I told Luigi I wanted yours (I fell in love with the excellent shot of your rally case on Luigi's site). Its arrived today and tonight will be the ritual unveiling. I'll be thinking of you when next I use my fully-dressed M8!

octo Posted March 11, 2008 Share #338 Posted March 11, 2008 I have managed to post today but after pinning it on Googlemap, I thought the quality of the picture appearing inside the window was more than poor (Cannes, France). I checked several others and while most of them are quite good, what you would expect your picture to be, quite a number show the same defects as mine: pixelisation, blurring... I probably did something wrong with the scanning? On the thread showing all the pictures, though, it seems ok. Your (learned) advice will be appreciated and treasured.
