Clothes damage - Leica M11-P

Hi all

I wear my M11-P with official thumb rest across my body on a strap. I’ve noticed on a number of garments that in the area where the camera sits on my body, my clothing has faded or even torn. 

The thumb rest has some sharp edges, as does the screen edge but before I look for a fix I thought I would see if anyone else has noticed this?

I have no other accessories on the camera besides a basic rope strap and the official thumb rest.

No, but I could see it happening easily with a protruding piece of metal. At any rate, it's part of the charm, if you choose to look at it that way. Wabi Sabi.

I also wear mine cross body but do not use an accessory thumb rest and have not seen any problem, so far.

Nobody needs a thumb rest. I tried, and it was just another thing to get snagged. Everyone clamors for more compact bodies, and then some go and put thumb rests, half cases, Visoflexes, etc on it, thereby negating that sleek compactness that is the M.

Thanks all. I think it must be the thumb rest. It’s the first M body that I’ve used one with and the first time this issue has become apparent. I’ll stop using it before I run out of clothes! To be clear for others that may consider the thumb grip, it’s not the protruding part that is sharp. It’s the squared off bit near the hot shoe.
