The sunshade looks original to me.
And I can readily understand that it combines with the f=9cm Elmar in closed position.
And with a f=13,5cm lens when fully extended.

But how can it be suitable for f=3,5cm and f=5cm lenses as well?
It would cause enormous vignetting!
Is this an engraving error?

Roland, I have that kind of sunshade in my collection too, albeit in a better condition. I even used it for some time, it works.

In my understanding you have to align the lower margin of the upper and outer segment with the engraving.

So:

fully extended: 13,5 cm

half way through: 9 cm

nearly collapsed: 5cm

fully collapsed:  3,5 cm

I stopped using this sunshade because of its weight-it´s all brass  and adds considerably to the weight of the set.

There are a number of variations of the FIKUS for different focal length combinations, which can be seen in Laney's Leica Collectors Guide. Early ones are black and nickel, later ones are black and chrome. There is a version made by Leica NY called the ADFIK. I have an example of that and it is chrome and grey.

You have two markings for 5cm: the one without further description is for the 5cm Elmar. If you extend the hood to this mark it will cause vignetting for the 5cm Hektor. So for the Hekor you use the last mark, i.e no extention of the hood, and this indeed works without vignetting with the 5cm Hektor as well as for the 3.5cm Elmar.

Though you can use the later version without any marking for the Hektor as well if you don’t extend the hood.

Well, yes, sort of …: my two versions of a FIKUS weigh 59g each, a FOOKH for the 35mm Elmar, which may also be used for the Hektor, has 18g, the FISON for the Elmar 19g.
